I paid only one month of service, and let it sit in the box. It's automatically unlocked 180 days later.

Am I the only one terrified of going into a metro store. Have read so many horror stories of mangers making up their own rules (requiring insurance, buying cases, requiring 3 months of service)

They charged me tax on $499 (full) phone price. Might be because of the state I am located….
Similar thing in my state. Kinda kills the deal for me, don't feel like paying an extra $50 in tax.

what details do they ask for GV number? since i have GV number associated to gmail account so not sure if they ask for account number or other details.
It's been mentioned elsewhere in the thread. Once you have a GV number set up, you need to port it out (costs $3, you can find instructions on the web to do this). You also need to set up a voicemail pin (also can find instructions for this). They asked for both of these an address, and my ID.

Went into a corporate store, they confirmed it was $60 for the plan, $20 for activation, and an 8-cent tax (on who knows what). Ported my Boost mobile number I got from the $50 iPhone XR from Boost deal 3 days ago. Took 30 minutes even including them needing to call Boost for a manual port.

Total out the door was $80.08 (California), no attempts to upsell or add anything, extremely straightforward and quick. 20 minutes of that 30 minutes I was in the store was just them waiting on hold for Boost to manually push the port out.

Has anyone been able to duplicate at the franchised owned stores without getting screwed? the closest corporate store is 3 states away

What is everyone using these for ? Thinking it could be nice to set up as a cordless phone replacement for Google voice thru the house. or tradeins for future deals ?

Deals good as gold. Buy a portable number off flea bay. I used a boost mobile last go and had no issues. Just writ your account number and pin provided from the auction, walk into the metro corporate location with cash to cover tax on the full retail of the phone plus a month of service and they will know you know what's up.

They want you in and out the store as fast as possible this method is tried and true. Business is business it's strictly financial.

If you feel uncomfortable about bringing in a random ported number you bought don't sweat it.

You may have to pay full tax if you live in a big blue state on the west coast

Is the PIN number they need to port in a boost mobile number just the security PIN that you set up online?

If anyone needs a number to port, let me know. Have a throwaway number I got from Straight Talk when purchasing used iPhone 11 last month. Current plan needs to be renewed before 2/19. PM if interested.

Great deal for those near corporate stores. None nearby where I live.

Edit: received 5 PMs already. Will give to the first one if it works out.

You'll need to call 1-833-502-6678, tell the voice prompt you want to port out, and ask the representative for your port out pin, which is a 6 digit number.

You'll need both your port out number and possibly your 4 digit account number at Metro to port in. Make sure you also have your Boost account number. The 4 digit number is only if they needed to manually port you out (from Boost).

Has anybody successfully bought the iPhone 11 from the Corporate Store in Santa Ana, CA. If so, how much did you pay for it? TIA.
