I paid only one month of service, and let it sit in the box. It's automatically unlocked 180 days later.

Am I the only one terrified of going into a metro store. Have read so many horror stories of mangers making up their own rules (requiring insurance, buying cases, requiring 3 months of service)

Just use a GV number to port. Cost is $3 to unlock from google to port.
To use GV number, what is the ACC# and PIN we need to provide.

According to google the ACC# is same as the phone number and PIN is the Voice Mail Pin we set. Is this accurate.

yes acct # is cell number and pin is last 4 digits of your cell number if you didn't change your voice mail pin.

Thanks. But I still didn't find this statement on that page: "Customer service will only unlock a phone that has been in the MetroPCS network for 180 continuous days." Could you tell me where exactly it's located on that page?

It's not. There's smoke being blown by someone pulling "facts" out of their ass, to mix metaphors.

"Unlock eligibility requirements

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
One hundred eighty (180) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

All it states is that once activated and 180 days have passed it will unlock. It doesn;t state you have to have full service thru out the 180 days.

Exactly. People have been using the "stick it in a drawer" method for years. Including me.

Just did 2 iPhone 11s at a corporate store for $136 using numbers I got with 2 iPhone XRs via the Boost deal. Up until a week ago these 11s were trading for $310 at Google Fi, so I'm a little late for that party, so in the drawer they go until they unlock.
