I paid only one month of service, and let it sit in the box. It's automatically unlocked 180 days later.

Am I the only one terrified of going into a metro store. Have read so many horror stories of mangers making up their own rules (requiring insurance, buying cases, requiring 3 months of service)

Omg - if you have a Metro account already the iPhone 11 is 30 bucks out the door with a port as it bumps you to a family plan and there's no activation. This is today only. The A14 is 30 bucks today too, since it's free when adding a new line (no port needed)
The free iPhone 11 deal is still capped at 2 per account, right?

For the A14, are you doing it online or in-store? If I go online and select "Need a new number" and then add it to my cart, it prompts me that a new account will be created that is separate from my existing account. So it sounds like the cost of the line would be $40 (is activation free?).

For the free A23, this one requires the $50 plan - would it be worth the additional $10 over the A14? Forgive me if this is obvious as I'm not familiar with Android phones at all.
You're right - in store only

Walked into the corporate store in Catonsville, MD this morning and they were out of stock. BUT a UPS driver then walked in and dropped off some boxes. A couple hours later I called up and they now had stock so I went in and ported the number from boost I activated with the XR deal yesterday.

It took about 30 minutes because there was a "port complexity" issue they were having despite me giving all the info over but they worked it out. Total cost was $70 and I paid with cash. Note that they did take down my ID when making the account.

Just want to throw out my experience at Metro Authorized Dealer in Minneapolis that I went through today, since there is no corporate store here:

Got the Boost Mobile from the iPhone XR deal so using that to port over which is about 2 weeks ago. Called Boost to request for Account Number and Transfer PIN with no issue. Went to the 1st Metro authorized dealer and everything was going well then they checkout the phone and then asked me how long I have this number for, and I said about a few weeks, they then said I am not eligible for the iPhone 11 free deal.

Went to a 2nd authorized dealer store, the clerk told me that my number should be ok to port over to Metro, but the price was $139 which basically the plan + SIM + Activation Fee + Tax. Asked them I need a details receipt with all the fee on it, they said they will give it to me at the end (At the end, they gave me a paper with the $60 plan checked and a total of $139 with no detail fees). I paid the fee to start the port and they have this problem called "porting complexity". They ended up need to call Boost to get that resolve for my number, and it take quite a while before the number was ported in successfully. Spent more than 2 hours at the store for this phone.

Overall this seemed to be risky with dealer, and despite Boost Mobile give me the transfer pin, it is still a pain to port the number out. Just want to share this for others incase they want to get the deal from authorized dealer and may be free for a few hours just in case this situation happen for you.

Final note, I asked the guy about unlock and he said 180 days and the phone need to be activated for 180 days to be eligible for unlock. If you only let it activated for 1 month and then dont pay the rest, then the next time you use it, you will still have 5 months left on the devices. Which is not the same with many user mentioned, so I will see how it goes.

He's either a moron or lied to you. I'm betting on the latter.

Great - I get home after picking them up at a corp store and I can't login because my account is 'high security' and can't do anything online or the phone unless I go back 25 miles round trip. F Metro, what a crock of crap. I'm glad they lost money on me buying $30 iPhone 11's and a $30 A14.

Edit: One left. Send me a message.

I got 4 Boost mobile numbers available for port-in.
$7 Paypal or Amazon GC. Cheaper than eBay.

Really? Where did you see this? I didn't see this "no activation fee" offer on the website.
