Love mine. But there is a known handshake problem between Yamaha receivers and Nvidia Shield Pros. I am experiencing it right now and cannot find a workaround. The Shield will stay at a black screen and occasionally flicker for about 10 minutes, then stabilize. Other than that I am very happy with my receiver.

I use these as "Sonos" replacements. Each unit gets you 2 zones. Not a bad price for a amplifier that powers 2 zones of wifi music. I have 4 zones around the house and outside, plus a few stand alone MusicCast speakers.

The amount of people complaining about no Atmos on a 5.2.0 receiver is rather astounding... the best you could physically hope for is gimmicky virtualization.

I looked at that too but it's already been snagged.

This seems like a really good deal on a entry level receiver? Is there any reason not to get this?

Pretty good deal on a budget Yamaha with Wifi and BT built in. Bestbuy recently had the RX-V385 on sale for $199.00 and as low as $153.00 for an open box but not sure when that'll come around again and it lacked a few features that the V4A has.

I bought this and it sounds ok... It doesn't have Dolby vision or Atmos so sound doesn't seem alive. I never knew how important Dolby was before I purchased this receiver. MSRP is a joke

Man. I just bought this a month ago for 320. It's a little clunky but a nice upgrade from my 10+ year old pioneer unit. Earc works well but had a lot of trouble getting my sony x900 to play nicely switching between my Xbox and the built in smart tv input.

This is exactly why I returned my V6A to Costco and I also didn't have the HDMI fix.

Is musiccast compatible with google cast? Or is that something else?

Well it's a cheap receiver. They'll sound ok but maybe you need more power?

Can you expand on this? The description states it does have Dolby Vision.

I typically turn off Dolby Vision since very few setups handle it well, but I don't understand how that impacts sound since have anything to do with audio.

According to the Yamaha site, other way around. Supports Dolby Vision but not Atmos.

The specs say it has Dolby vision and atmos. Is this incorrect?
