Thanks OP. I think my second hand dc44 is finally on it last legs after multiple repairs and part replacements so time for an upgrade. Picked up the v10. Seems like a good price for brand new with full 2 year warranty.

Update: I got my V10 today and it showed up dead. Won't charge and now I have to return it.

Some times the power brick adapter is bad. I replaced my V6 one within 2 years of ownership. But yours is brand new so I guess go through hassle of return. PITA for sure
