I recommend looking at reviews for this. They swayed me into not purchasing back around the time it came out. Mainly, speed is very low. Mileage is very low. Tires aren't great. At this price it's a really great deal, just don't know if it's a great product.
As someone who owns this scooter, it's incredibly niche and I would not recommend it at this price.
The Bad:
The main dealbreaker is the frame/body of the scooter feels much more fragile and less capable than a typical electric scooter. The turn radius for the handlebars is ridiculously narrow and their position is very low. Both wheels are small, the front 7.5" and the back 6", and the front wheel is thinner than the rear. Basically it feels like you're riding a rickety piece of plastic. A rough ride on anything except the most smooth of surfaces.
The top speed is 12 mph and the range is about 7 miles. The range is about as low as you'll find in an adult electric scooter but the frame and wheels are the real issue. It's hard to imagine a multi-mile commute that wouldn't be rough for both the scooter and driver.
The Good:
It's the coolest looking scooter that Segway has ever released. The led strip down the center is cool, the handlebars rotate down when it folds, the profile is very small when folded. The box it comes with doubles as a storage stand (wish their other models had this). The scooter is definitely lightweight but still a bit unwieldly. Lightweight would be more of a benefit if the scooter was a better ride (ie carrying around at times during a commute). As a toy, being lightweight doesn't mean as much.
TLDR
Overpriced but stylish. Really limited, rough ride. Good for riding in an airport or in a hip office space.
Yeah and the stated ranges are always for like a very lightweight person going as slow as possible on flat terrain. I'd guess in reality it's more like 5 miles tops.
just saw a guy riding this . It definitely looks cool and different .
But agree with the review above - the wheels are small . wonder how comfortable the ride is.
I can't believe it's $800 retail price. Segaway has other models that retail around 800 to 1k but you get 20 to 40 miles. A scooter that only can go 7.5 miles (more like 5 miles) should be in the $150 to $200 range. $300 is still not a good value. Segway has been selling on woot for years and foe $500 you can get a real escooter.

I'm not going to defend Segway's $800 retail price, however, at $300 brand new, I think you need to look at use scenarios. This scooter has an aluminum magnesium frame and only weighs 23 lbs. Do you know of another scooter in this price range with an aluminum magnesium frame - in that weight class - around $300?
Something like this could rather easily stow away in somebody's small car - not something I'd say about my current e-scooter. I was also thinking, for ex, if you take a beach vacation, you could (possibly) bring along one or two of these with you. At only 23 lbs and given that they fold completely flat, you could even carry them down to the beach with you (if you feared them getting stolen). Again, yes, $800 is ridiculous, but I think you can find suitable use cases that justify the discounted $300 price tag.

7.5 miles range easily degrades.
Here's a quality review from the last thread: https://slickdeals.net/f/16285132-segway-ninebot-air-t15-electric-kick-scooter-lightweight-and-portable-innovative-step-control-white-398-99?p=160084099#

Love the design of this though compare to the other ones, but suffer on the range and speed.

Especially with 220lb max load. On a hot day going up a slight incline I would be lucky to get 3 miles. Ick.

What makes you think this would go up a slight incline? 😂
Would be nice to mod it with a bigger battery. Hell, why aren't there more DIY parts option in e-scooters like e-skates have?
