Metro allows their phones to be unlocked after ~180 days. Some Metro phones work with T-Mobile out of the box, though I'm not sure if that's the case with this specific phone.

What if you're currently with T-Mobile postpaid and want to get this? Can you port from TM to Metro so you don't have to pay for an extra line and then wait 6 months before being able to unlock it and use it on TM? Does the unlocking apply only to carriers outside the TM/Metro network, or also to TM from Metro?

We're currently on the 2-line 55+ Magenta (not Max) plan for $75/mo total, so even if we could port to Metro to get this phone we'd end up paying either $25 (2 x $50 = $100 - $75 = $25) extra for the one month if it can be ported back to TM in a month, or 6 x $25 = $150 if not and we have to wait 6 months.

Either way that's a great deal for 2 S23's. But that's assuming that this can be done.

Btw do they also offer TMobile Tuesdays on Metro?

Also, with 4GB RAM & 64GB storage, this is the "low end" S23, right? Any other cons, like no wireless or fast charging, etc.?

Good phone but it's probably going to just get 1 android update and that will be that, like most Motorola phones.
Yep but for $40 tough to argue

No. These won't work on T-Mobile native for 180 days from activation.

I am on Tmobile and have purchased a few phones from Metro PCS for the very reason of having a backup. I pay for the first month, set it in a drawer...maybe take it out to charge once a month and then set a timer on my phone. At the 6 month mark I put my Tmobile SIM in it and it works. I also do this knowing that my kids will need or break a phone and I just sell it to them at my cost...or it becomes a birthday/Christmas present.
Do you have to request unlock code or do an unlock process they any app or does it unlock automatically in it's own?

is this a better value proposition when compared to moto g stylus 5G given thats cheaper at $40 vs $50 for this. I know this has got long term software updates promised but its just a promise again. Any thoughts from those who own both?

Also noticed that this has only 4GB Ram vs 8G on moto

Getting "Sorry, we are currently experiencing technical issues-please try again." at the final page. The third time trying I get "Sorry, your request cannot be completed at this time. For additional assistance, find a store near you."

Tried on desktop Chrome (including incognito) and Edge, on mobile Chrome (including incognito) and Firefox. Cleared cookies and cache in all instances but still no dice. Any other suggestions?
Try using a different shipping address?

Thanks. Doesn't look like it has wireless charging either, which isn't absolutely necessary but still nice to have as we have several charging pads at home and they're popping up in more places these days like planes and such. And I think that TM has several lower-end phones that have more RAM & storage plus wireless charging, and Costco has deals on some of them.

Do I need to activate the phone?
Then I need to remove the sim card? and put it in the drawer, and wait for 180days to put the sim card back?

This is an excellent phone. The screen is lcd but has a 120 mh screen which looks better than my Pixel 7 . Camera is kind of meh, not in the class of a iPhone or Pixel.
Obviously looks are subjective, but I'll take an AMOLED screen over LCD any day even with the slight reduction in refresh rate.

It varies from different people's preferences. I have Oneplus N20 5G with 60Hz AMOLED and Samsung A23 5G 120Hz LCD, I prefer the Samsung one.

I have ordered Moto G 5G stylus one for $40 in last December. Is there any limitation per address/person to buy another phone like this?

I guess I'm just too used to dark mode and blacks being actually black. But glad to hear that other people prefer the higher hz LCD screens.
