Metro will activate the SIM within 2 weeks of your delivery date, but I don't think it will automatically activate your phone/trigger the device's internal unlock counter. You have to install the SIM and turn on the phone for that. I noticed my phone's unlock date was exactly 181 days after I put my SIM into the phone and not when the SIM was activated two weeks prior, so it was a good thing I put it into my phone before the first month was over. Might've had to pay for another month and start the counter from there.

Can confirm that I only spent money on the first month and kept it in a drawer afterwards for exactly 180 days after my SIM activated, but it said I wasn't eligible for a unlock until about 2 weeks later after that (180 days after I finally turned the phone on with the SIM inside). Bought this phone back in June (with the deal at discounted price with first month, not this better deal at free with first month) and unlocked just about 2 weeks ago.

The unlock setting (built into the phone, not a separate app) gives a very distinct, red X with message saying that I didn't reach the requisite 180 days to unlock the device, but that message about the 180 days disappeared after waiting a few weeks longer and in its place was a link to try a 'permanent unlock', which worked.

Maybe you do know how to understand reviews (although doesn't seem like it) but seems like you can't follow the logic of discussion very well. Why bother posting a review in an attempt to prove your point, but the review says nothing like that.

Had your comment been about the night images (which many may not even care about), you *might* have sounded legit, but making a Simpson's Comic Book Guy "worst Batman ever!" comment, blows any credibility.
Review said exactly what I said. Are you really that thick? But continue and keep embarrassing yourself.

" However, in low-light and dark conditions, the Galaxy A53 produces better results".

Oh my, that so clearly says the Galaxy is far, far superior and the Sylus is a total piece of garbage.

You really need to look up Dunning-Kruger effect. 😂🤣

How to get it unlocked after 6 months? Do we need to raise a request using metro-pcs portal? Or call customer care? Or the unlock process is automatic?

3 years of security updates for the Moto G Stylus 5G 2022, according to the Motorola web site. Do you have some different information? The older phones had 2 years.

FYI: I tried my T-Mobile prepaid SIM, from my Moto G Stylus 2020 in my 2.5 month old Metro Moto G Stylus 5G 2022, and all I got was "emergency calling only", so it looks like I have to wait 3.5 more months to unlock it, as others have said.

Works great on WiFi though, so I use it as my primary phone at home. I take my old phone when going out. That will hopefully change in 3.5 months.

Also thinking about changing from my old $30/mo 5GB "Walmart" T-mobile prepaid plan to the $15 or $20 Mint Mobile plan.

Oh I did'nt know Moto added 1 yr additional support. I just knew that based on what Moto use to do on all their phones but I guess that changed, the platform updates though still are 1 year.

3GB Priority data on $15 T-Mobile Prepaid Connect. No taxes and fees when using refill cards that go on sale often on Target. $5 off $50 + 5% off Red Card = $42.75. Makes it effectively $12.83 per month w/o taxes and fees.

Unfortunately, it has a hard limit on data, so it's a non-starter for me. And it eliminates other T-Mobile perks too.

Can upgrade to the next tier for the month if you need more data. For example from 3GB to 6GB. You get the rest of the 3GB for $10 plan upgrade fee instead of buying $10/1GB.

Which T-Mobile perks do you get with the Walmart plan. That's a long time ago if I remember correctly.
