Metro will activate the SIM within 2 weeks of your delivery date, but I don't think it will automatically activate your phone/trigger the device's internal unlock counter. You have to install the SIM and turn on the phone for that. I noticed my phone's unlock date was exactly 181 days after I put my SIM into the phone and not when the SIM was activated two weeks prior, so it was a good thing I put it into my phone before the first month was over. Might've had to pay for another month and start the counter from there.

Can confirm that I only spent money on the first month and kept it in a drawer afterwards for exactly 180 days after my SIM activated, but it said I wasn't eligible for a unlock until about 2 weeks later after that (180 days after I finally turned the phone on with the SIM inside). Bought this phone back in June (with the deal at discounted price with first month, not this better deal at free with first month) and unlocked just about 2 weeks ago.

The unlock setting (built into the phone, not a separate app) gives a very distinct, red X with message saying that I didn't reach the requisite 180 days to unlock the device, but that message about the 180 days disappeared after waiting a few weeks longer and in its place was a link to try a 'permanent unlock', which worked.

I am guessing since it only gives me the option to "Find a Store" it is not in stock online? I don't want to pay the extra $20 in store...

I bought this device via the same deal in Dec. And it is a great device. However, the wait time of 180 days for unlocking it is kind of bummer. If you are ok with that long of wait time, its a good device.
Do you just have to wait 180 days, or have 180 days of service?

I'm also just getting a button for "find a store". Sorry if this was already covered. There's a lot of pages of comments!

I got this phone from Metro 2 months ago. I bought it through an authorized agent. No setup fee but I had to get the $60 plan for the first 3 months. Service is great.

I don't see the Add to Cart option. Should I wait for it to be In Stock online? That way I save the $20 Activation in Store

My Galaxy A53 has been awesome, it's already updated to Android 13 what the latest security. It's Motorola as good with updates on their lower- midranges?

Where do you find the "internal unlock counter" on the phone? Thanks.

Connect it to your WiFi. SIM locked means only Metro SIM will work. If you don't pay them, it won't work on their network.

Don't know about the Moto Stylus, but in the Samsung a14 I went
-settings
-Connections
-More connection settings
the network unlock option is at the very bottom, you can also go to settings and search network unlock
