Metro will activate the SIM within 2 weeks of your delivery date, but I don't think it will automatically activate your phone/trigger the device's internal unlock counter. You have to install the SIM and turn on the phone for that. I noticed my phone's unlock date was exactly 181 days after I put my SIM into the phone and not when the SIM was activated two weeks prior, so it was a good thing I put it into my phone before the first month was over. Might've had to pay for another month and start the counter from there.

Can confirm that I only spent money on the first month and kept it in a drawer afterwards for exactly 180 days after my SIM activated, but it said I wasn't eligible for a unlock until about 2 weeks later after that (180 days after I finally turned the phone on with the SIM inside). Bought this phone back in June (with the deal at discounted price with first month, not this better deal at free with first month) and unlocked just about 2 weeks ago.

The unlock setting (built into the phone, not a separate app) gives a very distinct, red X with message saying that I didn't reach the requisite 180 days to unlock the device, but that message about the 180 days disappeared after waiting a few weeks longer and in its place was a link to try a 'permanent unlock', which worked.

I think he was worried that the charger being a higher wattage is an issue, probably didn't know the voltage is the same for all these USBC chargers, and the current would only get changed after the charger and phone handshake on how fast a power rate it can handle.
Without active temperature feedback at the battery, the charge current will stay at 100% at least until the battery level reaches 80%. Since there is no active cooling inside the phone, the battery will heat up when charged on a hot day. POWER = VOLTAGE x CURRENT.

Phone manufacturers don't care about the battery after the warranty period. Electric cars have longer battery warranty, so they include active cooling/heating of the battery pack during charging. Even with this protocol, some auto batteries will blow up during charging.

If you have an apartment number, make sure and put it on the same line as the address and not the second form field where they ask for it as they didn't print the second form field on the shipping label causing it to be returned to UPS due to missing apartment number. I was able to get it added by calling UPS but it delayed the shipment.
Yep, second that. Same thing happened to me and now package is lost in return-for-undeliverable. Called Metro and their system shows correct full address while UPS provided written proof that apt number is missing. Metro rep asked me to submit an Order Support online while UPS will only initiate an investigation from SENDER. It's been over a week and have not heard back from Metro. Of course, charge on credit card cleared immediately.

Metro can't even get address capturing right and sends prospective customers on a wild goose chase. Smh.

Waiting for confirmation email.
I've logged into my account after activation. Auto pay is disabled because there isn't a payment method on the account. You can just activate and not worry about it.

I plugged this phone into the usbc of my battery pack with power reporting and shows it doesnt exceed 15W. Same with my pixel 3 and other phones i've got around the house. They must have some handshaking to ensure they don't exceed the current the phone can handle.

you're right, at over 80% charge the current/power charge rate drops far below 15W, maybe 5W.

I think i did hear of the issue you mentioned in ppl charging their phone in their cars while it was running navigation apps, especially with wireless charging.

Can't seem to get an order through. Tried on Firefox (VPN on), then tried edge (VPN off), and finally chrome (VPN off). All just says "Please contact us to complete your order". I want to give you money MetroPCS!

Same thing happened to me as well. They missed my Apt# which I entered in the separate line during the order. Had to call UPS and put in my Apt#. It delayed the package by 3 days.

They also negotiate voltage. But still, the phone won't take/get more than it can handle.

Lol I bought the unlock code for $15 but when i restart phone with non metro sim it wont prompt to enter unlock code. Looks like $15 in water.
One of the unlock website says this -
ATTENTION!!!
Before you make an order, please check if your Motorola device asks for a network unlock code when you insert a simcard from a different network.

If no message to enter a network unlock code appears, please contact us by e-mail.

If no message to enter a network unlock code appears, please contact us by e-mail.

Networks that are not supported.
Please don't make an order if your Motorola works in any of these networks:
T-Mobile, Metro Pcs, Cricket, Boost USA.

For any questions, please contact [email protected] -

So the only way to unlock is for them to access your phone remotely and use their software to unlock it ?

Edit : This is interesting

Since you have the unlock code try one of these steps -

**In special cases you might try a #073887* sequence to force your device to ask for an unlock
or
just dial #7465625*638*CODE# (CODE is the NCK unlock code you receive from us) on the phone app.

evidence seems to be mounting that we won't be able to unlock without 180 days of active service. Bummer

I don't have mine close at hand (it's in a closet somewhere), but I'm quite sure it does have 6GB of RAM.

Metro's website claims it does: https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/c...ord-n20-5g

Because the folks here who are spreading that story obviously have a Tardis and traveled to July and saw their phones bought in December can't be unlocked. LMAO
