These are nice cameras as long as you are aware of what you are getting (low price cameras from a company that recently showed that their programmers don't know enough about security). They're much better than Wyze cameras, which are gimped if you don't subscribe to the monthly service. These cameras will do the person detection without a subscription.

Most people wouldn't actually put these indoor due to the security concerns. I put a couple facing out windows in order to keep an eye on the yard and be alerted to package delivery.

I wouldn't put these indoors until they get a security update available.

Weird. I've never had that happen to any of my 7 cameras over the past 2 years. I don't think I've ever reset any of my cameras.

I have a different issue that I've been back and forth for weeks with support and that is the app not showing me a live feed of any camera and my events being completely empty. It will correct itself after a few minutes, but when I'm trying to see something quickly and that happens, minutes later is not useful.

Eufy got back to me today and finally said they have no fix and I should wait until their new app is released, which could be a long time, so I need to be patient. I do believe it's an app issue and not a camera issue.

I replaced my various Wyze cams with these and I don't miss the Wyze cams, even with the Eufy app problem.

The only Eufy products I have are a vacuum cleaner and a very good doorbell that is NOT connected to the cloud. Local storage only.
Trying unplugging your internet modem and see if you can still access your doorbell recordings. If you can't, it's talking to Eufy servers.

Testing, before Eufy changed their system a few days ago after the recent exposé (linked), showed that only thumbnails of images used for facial recognition and metadata were on the cloud, not full videos, if you didn't have a subscription.

the "playback" feature on the app doesnt work anymore...
its very difficult to watch your recorded videos without the "playback" feature.

so as soon as you receive the item check that feature works or else return it. it's pretty much useless unless you have a way to save the videos other than micro-sd...
because my computer couldn't read the data from the micro-sd.

theyre probably trying to make customers sign up for cloud storage......

So if these have a security issue and wyze arent as good, whats the best buy for such cameras at around the same price point or not too much more?

Just chiming in to say anyone effected by the recent app changes can fix them immediately by downloading and installing the last version's APK. Just google "Eufy Security v4.5.4_1561" and you'll go right to it. Then turn auto update off

Shouldn't have to to that, but it's the best easiest workaround right now at this point in time.

Also, in for another one of these, I have them mounted up under my eaves and they've made it outside for a year now through all seasons with no issues.

Thank you! My camera won't connect to my wifi. Decided to update and now it won't even detect my phone through wifi. Used your link and it does find my phone, be still won't connect to my 2.4 ghz wifi. Got any tips for that? I'm thinking of finding a way older version of the app and trying that
