Wait till after May 2023 7 Year merger agreement Ends and can legally add data caps and modem fees again. They tried back in 2020 to get FCC to allow them

https://arstechnica.com/tech-poli...-services/
Then put the router next to the modem/TV, connect the modem to the router, and the router to your TV, and replace your existing router with a switch.

Connecting your TV straight to the modem without a router/firewall is a bad idea, if that's how you were planning on using the second port on this modem.
Unless you have at least a prosumer router that can take advantage of link aggregation (multiple WAN ports), or pay for multiple ISP links and have multiple routers for failover, having two ports isn't a big limitation for most setups.

got this with a deal back in jun '21 for $57. the first one was defective and slow as a snail., but the replacement has been working for almost 2 years now. i think i might have replaced the bad power adapter about a year ago with the adapter from the previous modem.

Bought this at $79.5 several days ago and it arrived today. Replaced my older DOCSIS 3.0 Arris modem with it and there were no issues. As always, you need to call the ISP and let them know the MAC address of the new device.

Anyone have experience with a renewed device? is it worth the extra money for the piece of mind of a new device?
I actually bought this exact one about 15 months ago. Also renewed, about this price.

Just recently had an issue with it where it was just boot looping. OEM still agreed to replace it and I just got a replacement back; YMMV on success on renewed coverage. I think you are able to see the warranty window on their site by adding the S/N or Mac address.

I've always found modem manufacturers to suck at support but this was actually decent. Online request, chat, and slow but successful RMA process

I have two stories house I need those tv's wired and not Wi-Fi for better speed. I also don't want to run multiple routers around the house. The modem are right under under the tv. It just don't make sense that I have to wired the tv to the router where this modem are just right there under my tv.
Connecting TV directly to the modem is very brave. You should not expose your TV to the internet without a firewall.

Get some powerline adapters if you want to hardwire your tvs. You can mix and match them too. I had 4 going at once, and had a switch plugged into the power line adapter I had in the living room with all my consoles hard-lined in. Never had problems streaming games to my steam link.

goCoax MoCA. ASIN B08XP8MMFG. You probably need a 4 in 1 splitter 2500Mhz

I get full async ~950 up/down -ATT. Just took up all cat5/6/7 off the floor. Super happy.

Previous poster was trying to use it as a two port switch to plug in their TV to Ethernet. (Not advised.)

Powerline adapters are hot garbage hit or miss, depending on your house wiring, panel layout, and the adapters themselves. MOCA 2.5 or even 2.0 is the way to go if you have RG6 available.

Similar experience here. That said, previous poster would have to already have Ethernet running from the modem to the router, so MoCA wouldn't even be needed here.

Also, you'll probably want a 1675MHz MOCA specific splitter like this [amazon.com] or this [amazon.com], when dealing with MoCA 2.5, to be on the safe side.

I bought a renewed SB6141 from Amazon back in 2016; came in looking brand new and still works perfectly today.

I own one for my father house but I just seem to justify to upgrade from sb6190 to this one, since xfinity is offering theirs for free.
