Been a long time since I've researched cables(back when i use to sell them) but there are some highly rated, lesser known brand, oxygen free copper cables on Amazon roughly in this price range. I mention only because this post has me now researching cables (will probably kill a couple of hours - thx a lot op Smilie but if anyone who's done the research cares to comment - much appreciated.
You should totally come back and post what you find out. I'm genuinely curious since it's been a while since I've bought any cables.
In my experience Fender Professional an Vintage cables have a higher rate of failure due to the TS connector having a press fit barrel and flange. It can work itself loose over time. I prefer Amphenol or Neutrik connectors for instrument cables that have a high wear usage. I have a pair on Pig Hog that have held up well with studio use. They are easily found for $14-15 a cable or 2 for $29. Also, I don't hear any tonal difference between the Pig Hog and my Mogami based cables I've made.

This one stands out to me...for now. I'm shopping 10 footers and shorter - btw, the 20' is cheaper than the 15'...

note: price has changed from $14.95 to $16.95 with a simple refresh - so many to research and there are probably better deals that are likely to change hourly.

Yup, I'm sure other companies also do it but I saw it on Amazon too. When I opened a different browser I was offered a lower price vs the price in the browser that I was logged into with my account. :-(

That happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was a bug. But now it feels intentionally deceptive. Another reason to avoid Amazon the best I can.

While it's not a slick deal per se, I recommend paying more than twice as much to at least check out the regrettably-named World's Best Cables (Amazon only). I was late to realize that all instrument cables sound different. The quality parts (Mogami or other fancy wire, Neutrik plugs) make the WBC cables a good value despite costing $30 or $40 each. I especially appreciate the "silent" cables (red on one end) with a clever shield that turns the cable off when it's removed from your instrument.

I've been pleased with KIRLIN cables such as this one. Nice quality for the price.

For shorter lengths - such as 10' or less - I like that GLS cable and have several of them. A couple of right angles and a straight one. At 10', the the gauge of this cable is more than fine (like speaker wire, gauge matters more as distance increases) and it performs perfectly well in direct comparison to some "better" cables I have (most direct comparison, for example, being Fender Custom Shop Performance Series, which are little heavier/thicker gauge, and likewise 'tweed' jacketed). The GLS often go on sale and, if I recollect, sometimes to the vicinity of $10-12 for the 10'.

It should be noted that not everyone or every application cares as much about preserving the signal as transparently as possible. Many players, including touring pros, prefer specific cable lengths and types due to the subtle effect they DO have on the signal.

But, those GLS are good cables, in my experience - which, again, is in the 10' and 6' lengths.

WBC are my favorites too, good recommendation although people are going to hate on it because it's more expensive but I agree they sound great & good value
