If i want to use this as a secondary drive for photos, but want the 2tb one, should I just buy 2 of these and save the $16, or get the 2tb one for $120?

Depends on how many slots you have open. If you only have 1, then you have to buy the 2 tb. If you have 2, you can buy 2 1tb. It also depends on how much data you have. If you have say less than 1 tb, you can buy 2 1tb and make copies of all pictures to both drives. This will be a nice back up. If you have more than 1tb of pictures, it'll be easier to dump them all on a single drive.
