Been eyeing this for a while for my photography addiction hobby.

This is the lowest price I've ever seen. Some trackers have the lowest at $630 (via third-party) from a year ago. The lowest Amazon price is $670 from 2 years ago.

It's pricey for a printer, but delivers great quality prints with affordable inks, and also does the all-in-one thing if you don't want a printer and scanner taking up desk space.

I used my Chase Ink card for an extra 5% back.

EDIT: same price at Office Depot/Max

At the risk of pupu-ing my first deal post, if all you need is a good quality A3 wide-format photo printer for the occasional print, there's better options. The Epson XP-15000 and Canon IP8720 come to mind for around $300. The inks cost more per milliliter than the EcoTank printers since they use cartridges, and neither one has all-in-one functionality, but for low print volumes, those would be more economical.

If you want a high quality A3+ printer and don't care about the all-in-one aspects, the Canon Pro-200 comes in around $550 for arguably better print quality. And if you want the best print quality possible, there's better (and bigger and more expensive) options.

This printer sits somewhere in the middle and made the most sense for my use case, since I have precious little desk real estate, didn't want to have to get a stand-alone scanner, needed to retain the basic functionality of my current office printer, and plan on using this for a relatively large volume of photo prints on various media, but also don't make my living with photography.

This printer unofficially supports DTF, sublimation, and pigment ink conversion, but I haven't looked into that too deeply.

Great price for this model. I got the smaller one 8500 on Dell with the 20% AmEx offer and 10% cash back for $420. I could get this for $600 at that time with the same offers which was the better price.

This is the best printer on the market. I own one. I abuse it. It sits for long periods, then gets urgent use.

I'm determined to bleed my old Canon G4200, which is awful, out of every last drop of ink first.

Despite the abuse, in six months I have not had to once manually clean the heads, or align it. Every printed page, every test page, comes out perfect.

But regardless of office or photo use, this is the best printer out there.

It has two small flaws: No ADF, and a terrible Wi-Fi antenna. Since Adobe Scan / Office Lens, I have no need for an ADF, camera tech has evolved. And the Wi-Fi can be resolved with a bridge Ethernet Wi-Fi adapter.

If you like your printed stuff to look great, and not pay a lot for ink, you want this printer.

They were sold out during the pandemic as it was sublimation-mod-friendly, and everyone and their brother/sister used their PPP money to set up Etsy T-Shirt shops.

I bought one of these when it was discounted to this price for the holidays, and used the Amex deal for another $60 off. I upgraded from a Canon Pro100 that did nothing but give me problems for the 7 years that I owned it. The Epson has been fantastic. It's roughly 60% the size and weight of the Canon, yet prints just as good, has a tray that I can keep letter size paper in for quick prints, has a scanner, and has nice features like a motorized slide-out output tray to keep it small when not in use. Still not cheap for a printer at this price but if you need a versatile printer that can do 13x19, I don't think you can do much better.

Anyone interested in a Pro100 with a locked up (and possibly ruined) printhead? Includes extra bottled refill ink, carts, chip resetter. Boxed up and ready to ship.

I bought this recently and I've had nothing but trouble for 8.5x11 prints. There's always a few ink blotches in the corners, ruining the print. This is for borderless on photo paper. I want this to be good but nothing I've tried will fix the issue

I tried one more troubleshooting step by buying different kinds of photo paper from Red River. Turns out the old Kirkland photo paper I had was the culprit. It was an older ream of paper that had been sitting in my garage so it developed a very subtle "canoeing" which probably is the reason behind the ink blotches.

The new paper I bought had no issues. The printer is particularly picky about how flat the paper should be. I've tried everything to widen the platen gap via settings but it didn't work for the old paper. So I'm fine with just using the new paper as there are no issues now.
