1. It's super economical to print them because those inks last a really, really long time.
2. Because they last a very long time and we are using the same print heads instead of a new one with every cartridge, they will clog if you don't print at least a couple times a week.
3. I have 2 Epson non ecotank printers that are a bit more professional than this. They have 11 colors instead of 6. Some people can't tell the difference between their photos side by side, some can, especially when you print something large. Therefore, this is not quite good enough for "proof".
4. Having said that, the printing cost is about 10 times higher on those professional 11 color printers.
5. Also, you can use non Epson ink (such as our dye ink) for arts and craft. You can buy them for super cheap (but I don't know how good they are in the long run).

I think you mean how much does the ink cost and page yield. That all depends on what your settings are. I actually use this printer for sublimation and a 85ml set gets me about 400 prints or so. This printer is a super tank, so there are no cartridges. I've filled my printer up just one time in 2 years. You could technically put your choice of ink in assuming the brand makes all 6 colors. Epson says 2 years worth of prints and even with me using different ink that's right on. If all you need to print is black and white documents I'm sure could be achieved with a more economical printer, but if you want dependable "photo" that can print up to 13x19, it's going to be hard to find a better option at this price for sure.
Of course lol. And the et-8550 paid for all the others. And I actually sold maybe 4 or so to get down to 10....yes I have a problem 😂
Works as it should 😂. I think it scans at 48bit or 1200x4800. Just be sure to download all of the drivers and utilities from the epson product page and you should have no issues. I promise I am not paid for this, but this really is an awesome printer... Im in for another one lol. No way I can pass this deal up.
