It seems that ALL the MX500 drives now have 512MB DRAM. Whether it's the 250GB or the 4TB, they all have the same amount of DRAM.

If you want to use an adapter and have a spare PCI slot, then getting NVME adapter to PCI is better. You'll get to keep NVME speed. They go for $15 a piece

In for 1! Saw the 2TB deal but needed bigger capacity.

Both nvme slots on my pc are occupied so this will replace an 3.5" hdd.

Crucial ssd all got knocked down to 512mb dram.

I waffled between this and the Crucial P3, same price. I ended up getting the P3 and am happy with the performance. The only time the MX500 beats the P3 is when the P3 pcache (~ 1/4 of the free space) is used up,. Then performance drops to 100 MB/sec vs 200 MB/sec on the MX500 once its cache is used up. That happens very rarely if at all. I would get the MX500 if you are using it as a system disk. For files, I would get the P3.
