Maybe this isn't for power users, but the target consumer market paired with the (relatively) slow interface will result in few people actually using this drive long enough to write 250x4tb of data. Can it be killed with excessive writes- absolutely. I would argue that my pc's / laptops that this will be installed into won't be around that long to see this drive be the point of failure. Not even close. It's a great deal.
I sure hope you're right but, historically, whenever prices have dropped to record lows (with shrinking profit margins), they have always managed to come up with some sort of excuse like a factory burning down or being destroyed by flood, or a major power outage at one of the chip fabs that boosts prices to new peaks.
Prices keep dropping…

Crucial claims 1000TBW on their website.

Still low for a 4TB drive, but not the lowly 360 tbw listed on BestBuy.

You write full disk 250 times to end it's life ....
But most times SSD failed because it's TBW reached...

Nice, at this rate it'll be ~$180 or lower by BF 2023.

Use a website to calculate the endurance 360(BB) or 1000TBW (Crucial).

https://wintelguy.com/endurance-calc.pl

Feel free to use different values for warranty based on how long you want it to last. Personally 10yrs is more than enough for me. Make your decision based on what's quoted. The fact of the matter is that for the vast majority of people it wont matter.

It's only the people using it as some sort of data heavy daily project like multimedia editing/scientific applications that would see this as a limiting factor.

Man, jumped on this bc a great price for SATA SSD which can be used since my lab machines knot have 1 NVME slot.

But… the 4TB Crucial P3 NVME for $249 is faster.. and would be great in mITX mobo that typically have 1 m.2 slot

What a wonderful problem to have.

while a great price, at this point getting a Gen 4 seems like the way to go value wise even if you need a extra PCI card for slots, unless you have a specific reason for SaTA
