Redbox has select movies for $3.99. However, stock may vary depending on your local Redbox. It seems most have Blu-ray options but some like Beetlejuice are DVD only. See last photo in listing as example. I saw some Redbox deals posted recently but not this specifically per search.

Movies will not include original case. They will come in the typical Redbox case and have a barcode sticker on the center ring on top of the disc.

Movies available at my local Redbox include the following. However, again YMMV. You should be able to order online and pickup at Redbox or go to the location and order there:

They still have quite a few new movies that are DVD only. It's weird. That has stopped me from renting there numerous times. If I wanted to watch movies on DVD I could get them at the library for free.

Top Gun Maverick 4K is one of several recent Paramount releases which do not include a Bluray disc. Not everyone has a 4K player so having the Bluray disc is helpful if you plan to play it somewhere else. Using Redbox is probably the cheapest way to pick up the lone Bluray to put inside the 4K release when you buy it.

Some studios such as Vertical or Lionsgate tend to use BD-25 format with little or no extras. After some time I've noticed the new retail versions of these ones may drop a lot in price. Copshop, Addams Family 2 and Dog were available for around $6 brand new from Target which is not much more than buying used at Redbox.

Of course you're giving up the cover artwork, which can be found online and printed if you want to go through the trouble and waste the ink/toner, and you'll be missing the DVD for combo packs. So far I haven't found any discs that won't play or that weren't full retail releases, but I expect those exist. Too bad there's no Wiki type list of any Redbox movies to avoid because they are stripped down rental versions. Such a list used to exist in a thread about Family Video (which I think went out of business).

They have been doing this for years. It just another way for them to make space for new movies coming out throughout the year instead of having to just dispose of them. There business model isn't to archive old movies, unless its something classic.

Was able to pick up Batman 4K, Matrix 4K, Elvis and Maverick on Blu ray for $16 total after tax. Each purchase at the kiosk also asked if I would like to buy another disk with $1 off. So I did one 4K - checkout - prompt for $1 off another purchase - added Blu ray - confirm and checkout. Not too bad and all the discs look clean, minus some dust and a couple of fingerprints, but no visible scratching on either side.

Picked up Top Gun and The Contractor for $7. Just watched Top Gun and pretty darn good movie with an awesome Atmos Soundtrack. Thanks OP!

My local Redbox had some of these movies cheaper in person.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent was $2.49 (great movie) and Black Adam was $3.49 (not so great movie). There were a few others that were less than $4 as well. YMMV The additional $1 off method someone else suggested made it even better.
