The Director's Cut is a complete misnomer in this case. On the disc, Ridley Scott makes it very clear that he had full creative control, and the theatrical cut is his preferred version. The director's cut was pushed by the studio, and he agreed to do a second cut of the movie because the studio had planned to just string together all the unused footage into an overly-long mess. He considers the so-called director's cut to be an interesting companion piece for people to see some of the ideas that were removed, but the theatrical cut is his vision.

Word...i saw this when i was 8. It traumatized and ive been armed to the teeth ever since.

Still one of my fav movies of all time. I have both cuts, Theatrical and Directors.

I own this and the theatrical cut in HD on Vudu, and have Prime connected via MA. They all show up on the different services as expected, but they show that I own UHD for both on the Amazon end.

Is Amazon doing free upgrades that anyone knows about? I'll have to look at some other movies to see if the same is true for them.

I saw the same thing on multiple devices and I am signed in. It showed 14.99 for me since this morning when it was posted.

However, I purchased it anyway figuring I could cancel it, and when purchased, only 4.99 was charged.

People should note that THIS IS THE DIRECTORS CUT NOT THE ORIGINAL. Same length as the original because they added some cut scenes back, but then cut some of the "tension building" scenes to make the movie move a little faster.

Personally, I cancelled my order because I think the tension is what made the movie good.

Why can I not find a button for purchase? I'm on mobile and when I view the page from both Amazon app and prime video app, there is no option to purchase.

You're not allowed to buy digital movies through the mobile apps. You have to go to the website. Same thing goes for Vudu. At least on iPhone.
