I contacted their chat and they refunded me the entire cost and told me to keep the bar.
Ordered this last week and it just got delivered today. Seems very solid. Just like any bar at the gym. I'm pretty pleased with the $30 price tag. Now if only the weights were cheaper...
Most are 255lb weight sets then they add a 45lb bar to make it a complete 300lb set.

Just ordered a $20 standard 7ft barbell from Walmart. Thanks for the post, because it got me looking to see if there were other barbells for sale. 😁

How much does the bar weigh? Many of these cheap bars are off a pound or two.
Sorry, that I left that important information out of my review. Mine weighs exactly 44.0 lbs so it is 1 pound light, maybe that is why my BP jumped up so much LMAO

Update: I am only using the bar for Squats now and love how easy it is to walk out and rack the bar in comparison to my Rogue Ohio Bar. I was getting a little tendonitis in my left wrist while benching with this bar probably because of the larger diameter (I have small hands, no jokes) and when I switched back to the Rogue it was no longer an issue.

For $30 this was a great pickup!

I received my bar. It's in great shape and works perfectly fine. I didn't receive the cups and contacted Walmart CS. I asked if they could provide a partial refund instead of me returning it. I got $7 back in statement credit and a $10 promo code to use on my next order. So $13 for this bar wasn't bad at all.

Very impressed with Walmart CS. May finally quit Amazon Prime and sign up for Walmart+.

Olympic barbells are usually 20 kg, so 44 lbs is spot on. Most people just call it 45 (and I realize the product description says 45 lbs), but I wouldn't ding it for this.

Got mine in yesterday. No box or tube at all - just covered in a clear plastic bag with the FedEx tag stapled to it.

To be honest, I'm surprised it got here at all.

Came with the clips at the end. It was in decent enough shape considering how it was shipped so I'm not complaining for the $30.

Insanely low price but I do question the safety of this.

A seven foot long 45lb/20kg bar requires a fair amount of strength to handle and keep balanced in your hands or on your body. If you can handle that, you will (at least if you're male but even if you're female) be potentially able to scale up to a 315 deadlift in relatively short order. Three plates and you exceed the weight limit. Don't go snapping this bar and shooting jagged metal ends at your face.

If you aren't powerlifting, it seems more appropriate to go with a 35 lb bar or smaller purpose-built bars (maybe a curl bar) or a standard 1" diameter 15 lb bar.

But I get it, this bar is cheaper than a dumbbell. Just be safe, lol.

What kind of cheap plates are you using? If you are using bumper plates, I agree - but then you use clips or collars, and are probably dropping the weights too... Different bar, different purpose. For $30, this is a great buy as long as you go in knowing what you are buying. Buy a nice York, Rogue, etc... and you are spending a lot more cheddar. IDK about you, but I have multiple bars, multiple lengths, multiple shapes, functional cable crossover or whatever they call it, bike, treadmill, elliptical, (small round) trampoline, medicine balls, slam weights, full rack of dumbbells to 105, a cage, a flat bench, 2 adjustable benches, a total gym, and approx 600 sq ft home gym space. It all started 30 years ago with a flat bench and a bicycle. I still have the bar and the bike and the plates. My opinion, but get what you need to start. Most people will never need a bar that has a limit of 310 or more. By the time they do, they will also have bought more equipment, but everyone starts light and it takes time to build to the point you need more. Just like a kitchen, you do not start with custom knives and a Viking stove. Over time you upgrade, learn to cook, and progress. Some will become true chefs, others will never progress beyond the microwave - but everyone needs a fork, knife, spoon, plate, bowl and cup... and a microwave...
mmmm Viking stove...
