Different brand reviewed by the LockPickingLawyer, but based on the photos of the lock and key, appears it could be the same manufacturer, just rebranded.

Lock picking complexity aside, take a look at the 3 minute mark and beyond.
He simply cut the sheath open with a knife and pried the (unwelded) links apart with a couple of screw drivers.
I honestly always thought chains were better though IDK for sure.

All locks, no matter the material or design, are simply a delay tactic. If a thief wants a bike, they can cut/break/pick whatever you use. The quality of the lock determines the time it will take them to overcome the delay.
If you have an expensive bike, you just don't leave it unattended. If I'm taking my bike to the bike park or other long drive, I lock the bike to my car rack in multiple locations using cable locks. They won't stop anyone with a bolt cutter, but I also don't leave my bike on my car when I'm not with it. The locks are there to prevent theft when at stop lights or while getting gas.

Never used this one but generically speaking, a chain lock like this is heavier and can be cut more easily than something like a high quality cable lock. Probably worth it at this price if those aren't dealbreakers tho.
Out of curiosity how is the chain cut more easily than a cable lock? Serious question. I'm looking for a good bike lock and had my eye on one of those folding link locks but am open to the most secure item.

This guy is like a supervillain about this stuff though. No everyday thief would know this attack. Few would have the tools to pick a disc detainer core.

I'm just some nobody but I think this lock is probably "just fine" for most.

Completely depends on where you live. In any major city/urban area, this wouldn't last more than 15 to 30 seconds.

Agreed on the picking aspect....but all it took was a knife and a couple of screw drivers. No picking necessary. That (knife and a prying instrument) is well within the wheelhouse of the everyday thief.

I've purchased a similar lock that didn't have welded links when I moved the black plastic back. I'm not sure how to describe it but the 0s that make up the chain were not a continuous oval. They could be pried apart with two screwdrivers.

Yeah but how would they know how to attack this particular lock? Do you really think people that want to steal your stuff are watching YouTube videos?
Jk.

They claim it's 4/5 level security vs. a braided cable lock being 1/5. I'm assuming it can't be cut with a cable cutters and would require an angle grinder or other tools. I'm going to try it.

I use two U-lock and bike alarm on my e-scooter. It will take thief a while to cut through two thick u-lock and with the 110dB alarm going while doing it.
