I would recommend the 5-1 if you have deeper cuts or larger items.
Ex. Half chicken

The 6-1 Xl is wider but it's a lot shallower and your meat may hit the splash guard.

It grills and air fries pretty well.

I have the griddle version one of this which is basically the same thing with an extra parts for a griddle. I love the device. It works great but sometimes I do miss my barrel version of the ninja air fryer which was a lot faster to heat up and clean. This is a great price by the way.

It's enough for it to come off and eat it with the stew you made in it.
For one, I'm not going to make stew in an air-fryer, for two, mine came with a notice stating that the coating is ceramic and PTFE-free, for three, that PDF you linked to does not support your statements.

I pulled the trigger on the 5-1 version. We have one already without the meat probe and use it several times a week for the past few years. We love it. Air Fryer, Grill Steaks. But the basket gets grease stuck to it so bad that its nearly impossible to clean. No soaking will ever remove it.
I found that putting the basket in the oven when we do the self clean function and it bakes that grease off! I'm sure that also affects the coating on the basket though.

But for $60, I hope the one I get comes in OK shape. I like the meat probe feature but didn't want to pay the extra like $100 when this was a brand new product. Just buying the accessories for these are more than $60 so hopefully we get lucky on this - otherwise I'll return it.
I am very happy with mine. It's very new looking.

For one, the air fryer was just one of the uses (6-in-1 for the one missing the no PFOA/PTFE statement) while other cooking methods are totally acceptable. For two, the statement was not addressed at the 5-in-1 which I incidentally purchased too, because it clearly stated no PFOA/PTFE on the Woot product page. For three, see below

. In some studies, higher levels of PFOA in a person's body were associated with higher cholesterol, changes to liver function, reduced immune response, thyroid disease, and increased kidney and testicular cancer.

It's an air fryer. Who makes stew in an air fryer? Which mode would you make stew with? Wouldn't you rather use a slow cooker or a pressure cooker and not an air fryer to make stew?

You are delusional. There were several Ninja Foodi products. What I bought was "Ninja Foodi Smart 5-in-1 Indoor Grill and Smart Cook System, Scratch & Dent" which among other things it seems to have an air frying function.

There is a commercial product restaurants use for cleaning cooking equipment called Alconox, KFC uses it on their fryer baskets. You can get it on Amazon.

Yes, I understand that. My question was which mode do you propose stew is made with? I am not delusional. I love cooking and it just doesn't seem like a device I'd make stew with. Noting that it's a 5-in-1 device doesn't change the fact that it's a heated element with a fan that primarily acts like an air fryer.

He's delusional I think you'd make stew in only the pressure cooker one they had for sale but he was referring to the 5-in-1 grill

Yeah, and that's stainless steel, so no testicle cancer there either...

I'm a seasoned enough cook to be able to make stew in this, either in bake or roast modes perhaps; I will see more after I get it. Pot seems deep enough, definitely not shallower than the braiser I used to make stews for ages.

Of course there is no teflon on the 5-in-1, I had already established that when I chose to buy that very item exactly because the product description said no PTFE/PFOA. Either you are not paying attention, or you are being dishonest.

My question was not about Teflon, it was about using an air fryer to make stew. I'm not being dishonest. Let us know how your air-fried stew comes out. I did look it up and apparently, it's possible if you use a more expensive steak cut of meat rather than stew meat, since you need to keep stew meat moist and slow cook it to tenderize it. I guess since you're so well-seasoned, you already know that.

The air-frying function is the one I have the least interest in. After all, the product is named "Indoor Grill and Smart Cook System" so no mention about air-frying.

It's an air fryer. Wait until you get it, then you'll understand. It has a heating element at the top, a fan that points down, and a basket for your food. The grill part is a piece of metal that gets hot because the air fryer heats it up. It's still an air fryer. There's no conduction that heats up the grill, it's all convection and radiation.

...and regarding no mention about air-frying, here's the first bullet point on the Woot product page:
  • Ninja Foodi Smart Grill with Smart Cook System. The Smart grill that sears, sizzles, and air fry crisps. Indoor electric Grill and Air Fryer

Ah. Radiation is good, that's how they sizzle steaks at good steakhouses I'm told, convection may help, but not nearly as much as in water ovens aka sous vide. Yeah, liquid food may not be the best case use. It would still work for the braising step in some stews, buth then why would I wash two pots?
So grill it is. For the price it may still offer enough advantages. That was in fact what I had in mind when I pulled the trigger.
