After about a 6 months something went awry with controller, takes several power cycles to get the lights to work and have the system not beep, and even then the light randomly turns on and off instead of the scheduled cycle, and the power & schedule buttons no longer work.
I have on my todo list to disassemble and direct wire lights and pump to put on external timer if I can figure out how to bypass the right circuitry.
Update: on learning about the somewhat unexpected 1year warranty I contacted idoo and they sent a replacement light unit which corrected the problem.

Aerogarden were just too expensive to get into this hobby.
Only note, i would recommend their Wifi models since the non-wifi ones keep de-syncing.
I have 3 in my house, one 7 pod non-wifi, one 12pod wifi, one 8 pod wifi (new model).
