And it won't work any better. Resistance over 20ft is minimal. Clamps and connection to clamp is a million times more important.

People forget or don't know we used to have straight aluminum wiring in the 70s. It worked fine except for idiots incorrectly terminating/splicing with copper.

Copper clad is an issue on high gauge signal wires over distance. Low voltage at reasonable amps on low gauge doesn't give a shit.
Those jumper batteries don't last forever. I bought a decent one for around $100 and it lasted about 3 years before the battery crapped out.
I think it would be safe to assume that all jumper cables (especially cheap ones) are copper clad aluminum unless they specifically say otherwise.

Am I right to assume these are not 100% copper cables? Thx.

i have had 5-6 different brands booster cables, all cheap/basic/functional, and everstart (different lower end model from op) was the only one to ever fail me. i've never had a booster cable simply not work. luckily i had another set of cables to use since i was at home. but every time an everstart deal pops up here, i will comment the same. never again.

I am surprised that anyone still uses jumper cables to tell the truth with jumper batteries being small and cheap along with new car electronics!

True i have jump packs and air pumps in all my cars thanks to too many SD. I really have only used to help others. I can't help but be over prepared now that im older. Plus SD effect is real and sometimes I do just buy stuff, think later.

Ok here's my attempt to help justify BOTH!

Click, click battery seems newish. Yes cold out but still. Yes car is 10yrs old but was fine? Jump pack doesn't help....might be a ground wire. Use the jumper cables to quickly go from battery to good ground...it starts. Yeah, not sure I'm convinced to buy yet.

Now still need to find the bad ground under car or near starter etc..but the long jumper cables helps you figure this out quickly.

PS, old car owners giggle your keys turn until failing ignition switch catches. Also shift to neutral back etc and see if it starts.

Many the plastic parts wear and don't register car in park neutral, key contact in correct spot anymore. It will have to be fixed later but at least you can start and get home.

same My NOCO ones lasted about 1.5 years, the battery just dead, used it maybe twice lol
Mainly have one as my Prius is not supposed to be used to help jump start others.

Jumper batteries are nice, but it's not a leave it and forget it sort of thing. You need to keep them out of extreme temperature fluctuations, yet keep them in the car with you whenever you go somewhere. These jumper cables @ $20 are a good backup to have in your car.

I bought 3 ubiolabs from Costco and not once have they worked for me helping others jump their cars. Cheap ones arent good, good ones arent cheap. Always have had to bust out the jumper cables.

Those battery jumpers have a long way to go before any and all are considered reliable as jumper cables.

edit:
and those multiple times I've offered to hemp people, I've been embarrassed I even tried the stupid battery pack.
jumper batteries are now in my book considered a big source of e-waste, and cheap ones being available in box stores, is accelerating that.

I use both, but I'm wary about storing a jump box in my car all year round. We only take it on road trips, but the cables stay in the car all the time.
