Any $45 air cooler will destroy this in noise and thermals. 120mm AIOs are useless.

These EVGA coolers are not built for silence, but they are very good at cooling the CPU as a result. I would buy this in a minute if I needed a cooler.

It's good. Mine came without a lga1700 bracket. But super loud past 40% fan speed. Overall, it's not too bad

Did you end up finding a bracket, or how did you make it work for lga 1700? Was considering picking it up until I realized only am4 bracket is included.

The CLC models are always going on sale, so this is probably a pretty good price for it, but I have seen the 240 and 280 for under $80 in the distant past.

I have the 360mm version on my work computer. The pump and rad are pretty good. The tubes bend easily and don't kink. So that part is great.

But The included fan is worthless. Due to its dumb shape it produces almost zero static pressure, which means it has to work harder (louder) to get the job done. If you have other fans laying around I'd advise using whatever you have instead of the Evga fan

Completely new to this type of upgrade. I just purchased the Ailenware R13 with air cool from the other deal, how difficult to change it to change it to this liquid cooler or is that even possible?

Same here (360mm) - I can confirm that the build quality of these is good, but if you use this for (home) work, different (quieter) fans are required. The 360mm version works well with my current Ryzen 2700x set-up, but am not overclocking. I am not sure how well a 120 mm unit will do. Possibly they are good enough for a 65W processor, but they may struggle with the 105 Watt processors or the newer Intel designs that run hot.

Also this comes with an app you can run on the desktop to adjust fan and pump speeds, but this never (in 4+years) was updated to correctly read the CPU temp on my AM4 2700x Ryzen (boo@EVGA). It is always too high (like 88C instead of 45C (as per mobo and other tools)). Water temp readings are correct though.

if you're looking for more cooling a 280 or 360 is where you want to go. this performs worse than most higher end air coolers. it's made for something like a 13500 chip not K's or other warm cpu's imo 120s are near pointless since a good air cooler can do the same and they are quieter and more reliable being a block of aluminum

I had a different model, but I suspect all have the same issue. These small ones reach a point where they are saturated with heat that is quicker than an air cooler. At that point, faster fan does not help.

I was going to post the same. Buying this is just so you can say you are using water cooling for your PC. I had water cooling on my 980ti and the included fans were trash. I changed it to a triple fan setup and it is way more quiet and much more effective.

Yeah, but this takes way less space than a $45 air cooler. RAM clearance and air space should be a lot better.

Has its place. Not everyone is trying to cool a powerful cpu. This is more than enough for the 65W TDP of many processors, and helps fit in SFF cases where low profile is necessary.
