For those who prefers QHD resolution, Asus ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition has nearly identical performance based on reviews but lower refresh (165hz vs 300hz). The Strix 15 Advantage Edition was on sale for $1,099 at Best Buy couple months ago and recently for $1,299 if I am not mistaken. Although performance out of the box for the Advantage Edition is reportedly bottlenecked by slow ram due to supply chain issue, this can be easily addressed by replacing stock x16 rams to x8 to bring the performance in line with the Strix Scar 15. Jarrod's Tech on YouTube has an in-depth review on this. The 6800M in the Advantage Edition have higher vram but the 3080 does provide better ray tracing and has DLSS on supported titles if that's important to you. Just another option to consider.

What's the better pick, this or the Legion 5i pro at BH for $1399?
The Legion all day. The Intel CPU is faster, the 3070 Ti has a higher TDP so it will perform better. It has thunderbolt so you can connect it to real dock. The screen is a better brightness, resolution and supports HDR. The Asus model has more Hz but beyond 165Hz I don't think it really matters.
How would this compare to the Razer Blade 14 at $1799?
You're pretty much comparing a super elegant, ultra compact and best in class build quality(for gaming laptops), the razer blade, with a big gaming laptop that looks, IMHO, really ugly and it's also heavier. If you don't care for portability, build quality and a subtle elegant design, this rog is indeed a better suit, since it doesn't heat as much, is cheaper and bigger screen. If you mainly want to use it at home and OCASIONALLY wants to bring somewhere, rog is the way to go.

Preferences in specs aside, I have had 3 lenovo gaming laptops and then 2 asus. Both of my asus had problems even after I had them returned and replaced until I finally got one with problems i could kind of live with. They have been nightmares in my experience and their customer service is absolutely terrible. On the other hand, my only one of my lenovos had a display go out just after my warranty expired and lenovo replaced the entire machine. With all other factors being close enough I will never pick any other of the bigger brands over lenovo again.

But still if you want to, I'd say this is better in every way except for the screen and build quality.

Get the Legion
Yeah, like WTF with the 1080p screen ?
Forreal, doesnt have to be oled but 1080p with a 3080 is downright mind-boggling for me
