Dude have you read through any of the comments? With so many people still commenting that they missed the deal, it's obvious how many people don't take a little time browse through the comments to track the progress of the deal.

Anyone can get this deal whether your location has it in stock or not. Ask a Best Buy rep to order it for you and they will charge you the sale price. Simple as that. I know it's hard to comprehend Best Buy doing something right after the iPad price match fiasco from a couple of weeks ago but people really need to check the thread comments and stop asking the same questions over and over again

$220 for a Name brand 5.1 4k receiver? And speakers? And a sub? Maybe 10 years ago.

I just paid 250 for this receiver 2 months ago refurbished.

It's a solid device BTW. Paired it with a JAMO set.

Is it a thing where u just have to go to store? My local have them in stock but app price is still original price
Yes, app shows full price. Ask them to ring up in store to see price, their in store system, not their handheld device which shows full price.

Lol. Been running a 9.3.2 setup for years now, but okay. It's a 4 year old budget 5.1 setup. Pro tip: clearance items from BestBuy or other retail stores aren't always a deal when you can buy from other places for less. bulb

I am curious...where can you buy from a factory authorized dealer , with a warranty, for less than Best Buy and other retail stores?

Via eARC?

I'm going to step out on a limb here and offer another recommendation. I think this is a very well priced deal, but not a steal. It will be near impossible to replicate this, even buying used.
The reason I say this is that the receiver is the entry level unit , and the speakers are an unknown quantity. I've yet to see the grills taken off. I assume the drivers in the satellites are 3.5" and 3/4" woofer/tweeter. They are rated at 6 ohm, which is a tough load on an entry level receiver.
Yamaha does this to avoid damage to small speakers. These will never reach reference levels.

Because this is not an Atmos receiver, there's little reason to limit yourself to brand new and entry level.
This also came out in my 2019, so it's actually not new.
I would recommend a used 6 series Yamaha if you can find one for around $150. It's going to have a better amp section and parametric EQ. Even going back 10 years, these all have HDMI and are bulletproof.
The speakers are where I think you can do much better.
If you are ok with satellites, I would look for a used set of Energy Take Classics. Or a set of Klipsch satellites. If they come with an 8" sub, bonus. If not, the Monoprice 8" sub that's been on sale is fine.

If you have room for bookshelves, your sound quality will improve dramatically. Look for one's with full 1" tweeters. Woofers at 5.25" if possible. And most importantly, 8 ohms with an spl of 90 or higher.
You will need to corner load your subwoofer for any type of bass from an 8". Small adjustments will eliminate the boominess.

I own two Yamaha receivers. A 675 and 685. They push some NHTs and Mirage bookshelves. All were used. One replaced a $3000+ flagship Denon set-up with a Polk 7.1 tower RTi speaker/SVS. The Yamaha combos sound better.
YMMV and many may not have the time or patience to piece a system together. But if you do, you can have a $3000 system for under $300 or so.

I was thinking about grabbing another RX-V385 but don't want or need the budget speakers and sub. I wonder if I could find a sucker to give me $100.00 for them?

Newbie here to surround sound….
Do the wireless adapters to these things work well? I have a pretty decent size living room and I don't want wires going all over, especially to the rear. I see that there are wireless kits available for the rear speakers like this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08RWDN263#Ask

https://www.svsound.com/products/...io-adapter

Thanks in advance.
Remember most speakers need power from the avr. These wireless adapter only work with speakers that have power input independently of avr.

What would you need Ethernet on a receiver for?
Some receivers use ethernet (or wifi) to directly connect to the internet to play from various streaming services.... or to your home network to be able to say stream stuff from your computer or mobile devices to the AVR located elsewhere.

This appears to only have bluetooth (which is short range and local only).

Also- firmware updates.

Is Best Buy's inventory system accurate compared to most other stores which are usually wrong when there's a low quantity?

A few stores in my area, the nearest being about 10 miles away, show 1 available online, but I don't trust that. I don't want to drive all over in the rain today for nothing.

Is there any reason why I can't order for full price store pickup online and if I get the email saying my order is ready, go to the store and when I get there tell them to cancel the pickup and ring it up for the in-store price of $221? If I get a cancellation email, then I know not to go.

What is the plan for those who did pick up? There's only 1 left in stock near me and not confident I'll find it in store, so thinkimg about doing pickup but am not sure what the next steps would be
