No DRAM but this is a modern SSD that will be hard to tell the difference in day to day use and the price is appropriate for those needing a storage drive or something to upgrade an old laptop.

Mannn....im sorry to be one of those. But ive got ((nd adding everyday)) lots of family photos nd videos i want to save. Currently im using a Micro SD memory card. But id like something more just.....because they mean that much to me. I have zero to no knowledge on these but will do some research soon.
Has anyone been down my path? If so, wat did you do/recommend?

An external SSD would be great for you. Durable and inexpensive with no need to install it.

Sabarent makes a great nvme ssd enclosure for like $30. Lets you plug the drive in via usb.
A mechanical hard drive is better for archival though.

Thanks for your recommendation. I would like to learn more. I am curiously why you suggest mechanical hard driver is better for archival? I would have though mechanical part might not last as long as SSD. Is it because mechanical HD still much cheaper for large amount of data? Thanks.

It's possible to lose all the data on an SSD from a drop, static shock, over voltage from a bad sata cable, any number of things (I've got several dead ones in a drawer as proof). But a mechanical HD can have the data recovered even after some pretty substantial abuse.

Depending on how much you are talking here...GBs vs TBs a Synology could be a good solution for you too.
Then an off-site or cloud backup so you have a copy elsewhere.
Pricey all in all but those can't be replaced. Something to consider

I'm curious why you leave the "a" out of "and" every time?
To answer your question though, we would probably need to know how much storage you are dealing with and how much you think it's will get to over the years. As others have mentioned, you might be best just getting a traditional hard drive. They are generally cheaper for more storage and speed won't make any significant difference for storing photos and videos.
I would highly recommend that you also perform cloud backups. This is the main reason that I pay for Office 365. I usually get the family plan (5 or 6 users) for about $60 a year. Each person gets 1TB of cloud storage. You install the software on your computer and it will automatically back up whichever folders you tell it to, such as your pictures folder.
