Give it another month and it might hit $599. So many people upgraded their computers in 2020-22 that 2023 demand is at record lows even as production ramps up. CPU, RAM, SSD prices are all falling with no end in sight.

Bought this during Black Friday last year. So far so good. Note that if you downgrade to Win 10, the drivers on the HP website still work even though they say "Win 11".

you can hand assemble something for $800 if you want better stuff, maybe 6650 and a i5-13400. takes an hour of youtube to learn
I've built a number of PCs over the years. It used to save you a lot of money. Nowadays, not so much (especially if you don't do the rebate hassle which is never guaranteed money back). Often you CAN'T build a PC for less than a prebuilt one (on a really good sale). There's always little things that keep adding to the cost that make the savings disappear.

That said, it feels more rewarding and more "mine" when I build something myself.

Saving money though? eh. sometimes, but not so much these days usually.

No way you can build cheaper than prebuilds nowadays unless you have time to wait and jump on deals for parts throughout the year.
