these are fine for a simple project like adding some colored lights to your headboard for video streaming in your bedroom. but if you want something more expandable/customizable/versitile, go with sk6811 and esp8266

The prices are actually significantly lower than Govee lights have been historically. Govee has the best app for strip lights. I have the RGBIC strips and they have a big community of users on the app who make new routines for the lights and share them, so you can use any of those or make your own routines with pretty sophisticated options. I've had a ton of strip lights from different manufacturers and theirs is the only app anywhere near as good, so I started paying the premium for Govee for that reason,
The individual color (IC) is being thrown on this product for people to be wowed and miss the fact that the light density is terrible and will create hotspots everywhere, leaving you disappointed.

I'd rather buy a dumb string of white lights with a minimum 60 LEDs/M than an RGBIC with 18/M; where a diffuser couldn't even save you.

Already few expired when posted?
Don't really understand the differences, is more expensive assumed to be better?

Edit: I guess RGBIC allows multiple colors at same time instead of entire strip having same color.

I believe IC is for individual controller, which like you said, allows it own color instead of one shared color on the LED

How do the two 65" RGBIC sets differ from each other? As usual the Amazon descriptions aren't helpful.

This deal was posted 2 days ago, not sure why it's getting promoted suddenly now but the deals are not that great. Seems like sponsored promotion

From what I see, the cheaper one is Bluetooth and the other is WiFi and has more integrations.

I have Govee strip lights. I would not buy another as they have a major design problem rendering these useless in most situations. If the strip lights come with their remote you are going to have problems. Your TV remote buttons will turn it on and off since they have same frequency.

I'm assuming you're stating this because you feel these cannot be controlled locally. However, the model (H6154) listed in this post might be capable of local control.

I cannot guarantee is has local control ability, but according to a list of supported local control LAN ability lights for Govee, it lists the model (H6154) as a model that should have LAN support.

If this does have LAN support, it can be activated in Govee's app and with Home Assistant, you can install a Govee LAN Control integration via HAC which should be capable of controlling the lights locally.

If anyone is planning on buying a Govee light strip to see if can be controlled via you LAN, make sure to check the model number with the list I link below to see if has LAN support ability.

I'm almost tempted to buy this just to see if it has LAN control.

Really do your homework before just ordering and know the larger lengths are actually going 2 roles. Like others said RGBIC allows much more customization of color. The ones that are compatible with Alexa or Google are Wi-Fi. I have had issues though with Govee (random color changes) and had good luck with the Monster brand at Walmart that are pretty cheap.
