Not a crazy deal, but these things rarely go on sale. Good deal for those of you that are on the lookout for an excellent DIY dust collection system.

I keep waiting for someone to build a whole house version of this.
I have this and it is still sitting in the box not used. The reason is that before I could DIY a collector, I found this https://www.amazon.com/Delmar-Tools-Separator-Engineered-Peformance/dp/B09GZXX9X8/ref=dp_prsubs_1?pd... [amazon.com]

It simply fits on top of any 5 gallon bucket and voila, no DIY needed. This one is more versatile as it can be fitted over any container. But if you plan to use a 5 gallon bucket as the collector, this one is way easier.

Anyone tried the one from HF? https://www.harborfreight.com/cyc...57194.html

The Harbor Freight model at about $40 looks like the Oneida DD plus model for $80.

Can anyone share any diy dust collection that works for them other than this type of add-ons?

I have this. Was hesitant to get it for a long time because it's just a piece of plastic. I finally bit the bullet and couldn't be happier. I've vacuumed plaster, drywall, sawdust, etc… all the while keeping it all in the bucket and most importantly, my vacuum bag empty.

Using that 15% off HF coupon that's in a deal here, that would make it $34.
Hmmm….

I've had it for about six months and I love it. It worke extremely well. My only complaints are that my Ridgid shop vac hose isn't the same size as the port on top of the cyclone, plus the hose that comes with it doesn't fit directly on any of my tools. I had to get adapters to be able to hook everything together, although that doesn't seem to affect function and I don't notice any suction loss from my vacuum.

With a little work and some adapters, I'm able to hook this up to my table saw, miter saw, planer, track saw, sanders, and basically anything else with a dust port. Using it with a planer fills the 5 gallon bucket up VERY quickly, so after a few months I ended up building a larger version using a 32 gallon plastic trash can.

Which adapter did you use?

It will work for that. I would also recommend a bag for your shop vac instead of letting the filter to sort it out. The cyclone will get most of it but some will pass through and the bag should catch the rest. If you want you can also get like a stage 3-4 HEPA filter for your shop vac.
