I'm on the fence a about these. $400 would be a good price point for these. All Apple products cost money.

You can't really compare refurbished to new. The Sony's are $399 new. This brings the apple price more competitive. If you are an Apple Music user the apple ones are a better choice at this price.

I bought the Sony WH1000XM4 brand new for around $275 on sale and I think they are the better bargain while still getting a quality headphone. The AIrPod Max do sound great with an iPhone but at that price it is still too costly, and they have been out for over 2 years I would think soon they would be coming out with a second version of them.

Fair point. The cheaper I saw the Airpods max refurbished was $370 IIRC at woot.
Still 40% more expensive and inferior for the XM5s.

The post is for a new product not a refreshed one. The price difference is like 12%. All the professional reviews say the apple ones are better for iPhone users, and also sound better which is pretty much the primary purpose of a headphone. I get a lot of people are anti-apple for whatever reason. Good luck with your Sonys.

I would wait, this year there will be new headphones coming out from Apple for about the same price, but with a lot of upgrades.

rofl dude, I am NOT anti-Apple. I have the Mac Mini M2 + iPhone + iPad + Apple Watch Series 7 + Airpods Pro. It's about value for the money and performance of product.
I agree with you that if you're using your headphones for iPhone/iPad, Airpod Max is better.

For PC/Mac listening, hands down XM5s
