    Hmm, I wonder if it's worth it to wait for the dock+vacuum combo for around $1,000? The dock is selling separately for like $700 on eBay, so it seems like it would be cost prohibitive to potentially purchase the dock later down the road.

    $530 doesn't seem too bad for the robot only, however you'd need to find the dock for about $500 to get the right price for both separately. I wonder how much lower docks will go for once the s8 pro ultra is released

    I replaced the roomba j7+ with this. It is so much better. It has stronger suction but quieter. Mapping is great. The mop function works extremely well. At this price, it is no brainer to go with Roborock.

    China will benefit from the manufacturing since all robot vacuum's are manufactured in China but I agree its better to buy from an American company that employees thousands of Americans like Apple even if they register in Ireland. Note lots of companies do that since if they don't they will be at a competitive disadvantage. The only way to change that would be to lower corporate taxes but then I'm sure you'd complain the tax rate is too low.

    My Roborock S4 that I bought 2-3
    years ago still working really well. Scheduled it to vacuum every other day. I haven't manually vacuumed my apartment since and this has saved me huge amounts of time.

    although stupid expensive, I can't imagine not having the self empty / wash dock. I've had the full setup for 4 months. Still on the original dust bag - just have to pull all the dog hair out of it regularly.

    Most important thing is to empty the dirty water tank soon after it mops. It will start to stink fast.

    I have the official roborock mop fluid, but we also use a bit of fabuloso in the water too.

    I have it wash the mop after 20min of cleaning. With a 2x deep clean of the kitchen it will wash itself twice. Can't do that without the dock obviously. Before self-washing/refilling dock, mop robots were useless in my opinion.
