Yeah the concept is shading your home will reduce direct sun during the summer, lowering roof/wall temperature, and reducing load on your AC unit.

The types of trees included in this program, even when fully grown, are not large enough to cause damage to a structure when falling.
Additionally, you can plant them wherever youd like, they can still provide useful shade while remaining far enough away to clear any structures.

You actually should be getting that too, they are issuing their environmental credit this month, so I get 38 bucks off my bill (which brings it down to about 12 bucks).
