Was wondering why the heck were these $3.10 a pound. Just out of curiosity, is it more of a shriveled kernel (irrigation, insect damage to the inside, some fungi), or more regular looking shape but black (often fungus). I have a small black walnut tree but I didn't get much last year, so I started looking into why so many kernels were discolored/malformed. I will probably have to get water down to mine next time we have a dry spell again for the absolutely worst four weeks for walnuts. They are SOOO nasty tasting Frown
