Every major bank throws slightly higher than normal sign up bonuses. And in that CC churning world, which has a decent crossover with this community, 25k is nothing to write home about and most expert churners won't even touch this as the bonus is not worth another card showing up on your credit report.
In America, these things are part of the CC culture. The cost of these promotions are passed onto the companies that you spend money with. They get hit with a few cents per dollar fee.
Rest of the world doesn't operate like this, thus even a company like Amex which is golbal and issues cards in dozens of countries, America is the only place you'll see 1000s of dollars of bonus to sign up. Same card in the UK or australia will give you 50 bucks bonus if that...
This is murica, don't catch ya slippin!

It's 20% less redeemed for cash.
This is the standard offer. Literally if you ever applied for this card in the last 5 years you would have gotten this offer.
The way you redeem points for this card is super lame. It pulls up your "travel" purchases, you select them, and your points credit you the amount of the transaction. Very unique, but limiting. This includes this bonus.
