Was looking for a drill press and saw this one on sale. From the YT reviews that I saw, seems like a pretty decent one and according to C3, it's quite at the lowest price.

I bought this to make a purge block for my exhaust runners. Shop was going to charge me 300 to make it. Bought it from woot for 230. Did the job with no problems and drilled straight. Wilwood brakes had holes too small for my bolts and this thing reamed like a champ. I've tapped steel and aluminum no problem.
Great intro/beginner drill press. I had this several years ago, and used the heck out of it. Upgraded to a powermatic floor standing version last year. Powermatic was over 10x more expensive, but only 3x better. That 3x though is many things this Wen just can't do.
If you are on the fence, I would do it. There is a good secondary market on Facebag & eBay if you find you don't use it.

Had this for 5 years. I use it for metal mostly, but it doesn't really spin slow enough for it. If this is going to be used for metal work, get a slower spinning one..I almost never use the speed dial above the minimum.
I'd say the same actually. Right when it spins up you can notice it pretty easily. It feels solid and doesn't move a bit while its not turning, but it certainly appears to wobble when it gets up to speed. I've got a bit lower end one, but it did come with the keyless chuck so Its not exactly identical to this one.
Can't seem to find great details on the differences between the 4214 and 4214T. Anybody know? Like is one newer than the other? Even on Wen's website they don't articulate the differences.
Amazon is selling them both, Wen doesn't seem to be? Is the 2021 model "newer" or is the 2021 model old?
For those that scored this for cheaper, worth waiting for a different model for less, or is this a good deal?
I'm just a hobbyist outfitting my tools slowly, but I can resist a good deal…

This is from the Q/A section of Amazon's listing—— From WEN: After a technical review, we made some changes to our packaging to prevent shipping damage, The T suffix help us track the effectiveness of the change. All of the features and benefits remain the same.

I don't know about this one but typically you can change the belt position inside the head. And may be you know that already, wanted to mention it just in case like me you threw away the manual with reading it!
I posted this deal last year when it was via Woot at $230. In typical SlickDeal user fashion, I finally got it installed about two months ago 😂 Bolted it to rolling tool cabinet top and used a handful of times. No wobble on mine, decent power for "consumer" level, and smooth operation. Much better than an off-brand floor standing model my dad purchased from Menards for more money. Would recommend.
Received and assembled my 4214T today. The revised packaging for the "T" model is extremely well boxed. Very impressed with the packaging and delivery. Setup was simple, instructions were decent. Parts are all coated with grease which was nice to see. Cleaned out the chuck and arbor, although they were probably clean enough already. Light and laser work well. Although I didn't digitally measure runout, there's none visible with the naked eye and the holes look clean and straight. Only played with different speeds a little bit so far, but I will test it's boundaries more this week and update if anything is wrong or subpar. Overall I'm very pleased with this Wen

What about hooking it up to a variable speed motor control too?
