Sure you will find better cards.. TONS of them.
If you don't understand how spending 90 seconds reading the terms of a card offer, to earn hundreds of free dollars (potentially thousands of free dollars if you do premium travel) is better than "a free $25 once a quarter" I'm not sure any amount of explaining will help though....but here's one example anyway....
I recently booked a round trip business class ticket to Japan on ANA.... cash price was ~$7000. Instead I paid 85,000 miles (less than the amount you get with this signup offer) plus $743 in taxes. So 85,000 miles was worth $6257 to me here. Knock off the annual fee if I'd used pts from this specific offer to do it and I'm still ahead by just over $6000.

If you're smart enough to actually use credit card rewards properly you can have both.
I don't see how you end up with either sticking to your plan where you only get $100 a year in rewards

So this is an incredible offer by Amex for both parties (Best sign on bonus 90,000 points + $200 credit for new sign up) (Elevated 30,000 point for referring them + extra 5 points per $ at grocery stores)
I'm assuming gift cards at grocery stores work for this? That would be an effective 9% back
Also make sure wen signing up you are getting the best offer. A lot of referral links are not the highest available. I was lucky enough to get both highest offers on both my cards (Gold & Platinum)

If you can do the 6k spend for 100k pts signup on the Charles Schwab card too that'll let you cash out amex points at 1.1 cents each.
But if you plan to travel AFTER this year just get an amex ED card that has no annual fee and hang on to the points for travel that way.
