"Up to $200 in Statement Credits on eligible purchases
You can earn up to $200 in statement credits on eligible purchases made with your American Express Gold Card within your first 3 months of Card Membership starting from the date your account is opened. In rare instances, your period to make purchases may be shorter than 3 months if there is a delay in receiving your Card. Also, purchases may fall outside of the 3 month period in some cases, such as a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction. (For example, if you buy goods online, the purchase date may be the date the goods are shipped). The statement credits will be applied 8-12 weeks after you have made the qualifying transaction(s).
Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits and do NOT include: fees or interest charges; purchases of travelers checks; purchases or reloading of prepaid cards; purchases of gift cards; person-to-person payments; or purchases of other cash equivalents. Eligible purchases can be made by the Basic Card Member and any Additional Card Members on a single Card Account. To receive a statement credit, your Card account must not be past due or cancelled at the time the statement credit is posted to your Card account. You must apply by 06/07/2023"
On business cards I have gotten them on 9 gold, 2 platinum, and 2 blue. I haven't cancelled a card yet. Think that helps

I did all those cards in 2021 and 2022. Maybe 3 gold and Schwab platinum were in 2021. I think main thing is don't appear to be getting for bonus points. I'm gonna start cancelling gold here soon. Gonna pick up a platinum and blue before I do. Have 200k bis platinum offer with checking added and 5k blue. Will use them to pay quarterlies.
They stopped offering the card to new people years back-- now they're force converting the remaining cardholders to something else.
Amex sometimes makes these offers- not always specifically after 1 year and not always to everyone and not always for the max bonus.
For example twice now I've gotten an upgrade offer on an Amex Everyday to an EDP...first time was after I've had the everyday for about 18 months and took it...then after a year I downgraded back, and got the same upgrade offer 2 months later and took it...
I just downgraded again after a year and the only offer I have at the moment is for 15k (rater than the 25k that is 'good' for this offer) so I'll wait and see.
