No Touch ID = no thanks

Without Touch ID, it's just an ok bluetooth keyboard with no backlight for premium backlit keyboard money. Lots of better options at this price.
Worth noting, looks like this model does not have the built in fingerprint reader (Touch ID). These Apple keyboards are also not backlit.
If you click the link the title says: Apple Magic Keyboard: Wireless, Bluetooth, Rechargeable. Works with Mac, iPad, or iPhone; US English - White

So yes, it'll work with an iPhone.

There are a lot of older Apple Magic keyboards for sale on ebay. Will they work with a new Mac Mini?

What is the life of the rechargeable battery in these keyboards? Is the rechargeable battery replaceable?

What's the advantage of "Magic" keyboards? What makes them better or different from other wireless keyboards? I need a keyboard for my new MacBook Pro I'm getting.

Seems like just adding the fingerprint reader adds $40 to the price.

I don't know if there is any true difference but the keyboard will look/feel like the one built into macbooks and have the typical mac layout with default function keys like brightness, mission control, music control and volume. I've also found that these have a more reliable connection than other BT keyboards.

Other BT keyboards work too. What I don't like about non-mac specific keyboards is you have to use a different control/alt/command key depending on how your keyboard is configured. But in general it's personal preference.

For those with their laptop open, i'd say they can skip the touch id. For those who leave it closed or use a mac mini/imac/mac studio, definitely consider the touch id version.

I haven't looked but i'm holding out for a full sized keyboard with touch id. I still have the 2nd gen magic keyboard with the num pad and prefer this size over these smaller ones.
