Most chargeback codes are restricted to 120 days (or less) by Visa/MC. Most banks (e.g. Chase) cap them even lower at 60 days. There are only a handful of reasons that will give you 1 year. If you have any doubts all of the processing networks have a handbook that specifies the limits.
