My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

I was charged shipping for their provided modem ($14 or so, I think), so I just chose to use my own modem instead. Yes, their provided modem includes a built in router.
So, besides the shipping fee for the modern, is there a monthly fee for the modern?

I currently use the Xfi Complete modem, so I will have to return that and can't use it for the new account. (Makes everything a little more involved. I guess it would be so much easier with a self owned modem, but the new upload speeds aren't available with that.)

I do have an old self owned modem laying around somewhere still. I guess if they cancel my service early I can always activate the old modem on my wife's account until her new Xfi Complete modem arrives.
Does that upload speed specific to any regions or anywhere in US? I have xfi complete but i am only gettting 10 mbps

Yes sign up under someone else's name. They'll activate it and cancel the old service. Very very easy.

When you search your address on Xfinity it will say there's already service at this address. Click I'm moving here as a new customer.
I currently have an internet-only contract with Xfinity on autopay and that has an early termination fee of $110. If my wife signs up for the service as a new customer, will I still be responsible for paying the cancellation fee? And what happens to the borrowed equipment? Should I just drop that at any xfinity store?

Lots of websites require gigbit internet to get a decent experience. If it ever takes more than 1 second for a page to load, your internet is too slow.
Sounds like someone isn't too bright and doesn't understand how the Internet works. Even 4k 120hz ultimate tier for GeForce Now gaming only requires 45mbps. You can literally have four people streaming high end games with no issue, much less the rest of the Internet or sub-1mbps zoom meetings. Servers don't magically send data to you at your max speed nor are they capable of it. They still need to process your request, are frequently overloaded, and that data needs to go through many many hops to get to you, irrespective of your internet connection. Maybe the porno ads from Russia with 500ms latency are taking too long so things don't POP for you. 🤣

It is only available in some regions. This 200 Mbps plan would have 100 Mpbs upload if it is available in your region.

That is what makes this such a great deal. Most people used to get the expensive Gigabit plan just to get fast upload speeds (35 Mbps). Anything above 100 or 200 Mbps download should be fine for 99.9% of users.

When I go to the order page for this plan it shows me "Upload speeds as fast as 100 Mpbs" next to xFi Complete.

That makes sense. The gateway I received is XB3 for xfi complete . I thought we get XB6 or XB7 with xfi complete and heard we need XB7 for higher upload speed

What speeds do you see for your current plan when you go to "Change Plan" on the Xfinity website? Mine shows 1200 Mbps down / 200 Mbps up for the Gigabit Extra plan.

I haven't been able to get the upload speed even though Comcast says it should work. So that's another story...

I could call customer service and cut a deal. Get a discount by prepaying the entire amount.
eg... $25 x $24 = $600. They would knock off $50~$100 or give me a free extra months.
Nowadays, they have no idea of the concept !!
Concur. I tried it within the last month so now I have no internet because I'm not paying the man
