My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Stupid question: Is anybody paying for complete and then using your own modem? Are you totally free to port forward however you want in bridge mode? I can't stand the modem's administration and want rid of it, but if just switching to bridge mode accomplishes that, I'm fine with it.
You can connect your own modem at first, I did, but if you don't activate and continue to use the XB3 w/I 30 days you will lose the unlimited download unless you pay additional $30 p/mo.instead of $10.

I cannot find these options on Xfinity app and website.
I received another email saying the service cancellation will be done 2 weeks later instead of immediately
Going off memory here. I linked the accounts so I had access to both accounts. I went to the new one and did activate modem. I power cycled first, then entered in the modem MAC info. After 15 minutes of verification, the new "internet" was started with the updated speeds. Overnight, I got a cancellation email. Hope that helps.

I was able to activate, I finally just called and explained what I was doing (dropping wife's account and starting my own) and they had no issue setting it up. Picked up the new equipment and, yeah, this xb3 is trash compared to the other one. Took about 1.5 hrs to activate and Wi-Fi signal is pretty bad. Only getting about 115mbs. I have an xFi pod from previous service so going to see if that makes the signal usable throughout the house

For those that were existing Xfinity customer and was able to sign up for this promo rate. Is it easier to have P2 (i.e. spouse) sign up for new service to get this rate or have the existing customer try to get this rate? I'm currently not on a contract with Xfinity. Thanks.

In my case I wanted to keep my Xfinity rewards status, so I ordered with the existing user info.

Is it possible to cancel the $10 XFi complete add on and keep the gateway and lower upload speeds and data caps?

I love the gateway they sent. I'm just not sure I'll make use of the extra upload speed and data caps.

The 10 bucks is worth it because normally it's 25 or 30. Also confirmed with Comcrap that if you remove the add on for 10 yoi can't add it back at this special price. Tmobile home internet is 35$ although uncapped but it's not as reliable as comcrap cable. So ymmv I keep both as insurance since I WFH. 35 for ea or 70$ for both no brainer esp since neither are contracts.

also you can only use their gateway with the add on. or else buy the gateway from eBay and return this.

still suggest you keep the 10 bucks unlimited add on no brainer If u need unlimited later..it's only 10 bucks!

My Xfinity internet service was 400mpbs at $39.99 for 12month. I was at the last month of the promised rate, and the monthly bill was going to change to $99.99. I was looking for the way to reduce the future payment.

Thanks to the Slickdeals comments, I could set up the current 200mpbs at $25 for 24months, without term contract.
<btw, I could actually choose to renew the contract by having 12month term, 400mbps at $30/mo for 24 months as existing customer.>
I choose the get the current deal because I want to be ready to get any better deal at any time. (I am also a non-resident of USA but temporal with J visa; I don't know when I will leave!)

Here is what I did;
1) visit xfinity website using incognito mode (chrome), and find the prices by using the current address. (I chose as I am a new customer moving to this address)
2) choose 200mpbs deal and customize (flex device, xFi etc; my place said xFi complete for 20/mo so I just skipped it)
3) use the same name, phone, email. The system will say they found a matching account. I chose to link. They asked my BOD to verify the ID. Then I chose one of the registered payment option.
4) the order was placed, and I received several emails from Xfinity;
- Your Xfinity accounts are now linked (I see new account number after login with my comcast id)
- We received your cancellation request (service disconnected: internet and TV, as I received a flex device for free - I will return it)
- Thanks for choosing Xfinity
- Thanks, here is your Xfinity order confirmation (200 mbps one)
5) I am waiting for the old service to be stopped, then I will chat on xfinity app to reset my modem/router. (I have my own one, as xfinity did not offer a free rental previously)
6) I will bring the Flex device to one of the Xfinity shop for return. I am going to take a video of it, just for the case that they say the device is not returned

btw I am not sure if slickdeal rebate can work in incognito mode lol
Update:
I was going to wait until the existing service stops, however I could find menu "activate your modem" on the Xfinity app. This only appears after sign-out, and sign-in again to choose the newly set account within the existing comcast ID. Then I did the activation by adding some code of my modem/router. DANG, now my speed is 200/10 instead of what I had previously. I believe comcast will charge me pro-rated

I see the speed test result of 100/10 on Google, but 200/10 on Xfinity website.
The same happened previously with 400 plan. Xfinity website test always say it is fast, but comes less than half on Google test =/

I was just able to sign up a new account using the same account information (name, address, phone number). The only thing that was different was the email (used a new Gmail account). It ended up linking both and I received a cancelation email, hopefully for the old account (for which there's a payment due March 26th). My new monthly bill is showing $30.60 after autopay and paperless billing discount(s).

The only bad part is that the cancelation email states today at midnight is my last day of service. Hopefully not since I don't have an alternative connection to use until they ship out the Xfi device. Plus I'll have to transfer over the mobile service I have with them to the new account, hopefully keeping the existing phone number.

I ordered online, and did the extra 10$ for 10x upload speeds (xFi Complete)... The Xfinity store gave me an xb6 and I am getting 230/80 for speeds. Is everyone else getting similar speeds? I was hoping to hit 100 on the upload.
After 24 hours, things went up to 240/120 and stayed there. Also happy with the wifi range of the xb7.

My only complaint is I don't see a way to do port forwarding where I can remap the port.

According to the cancellation request email, I expected the existing service to be terminated last night; however I received another cancellation email saying the service will end on 2 weeks later. I am not sure why it takes 2 weeks of time. They also shipped me something even though I have my own modem/router
I have the same thing. First email was to cancel the next day (which would be today 3/20) and received a second email stating the cancelation is 4/3. Can I just chat with Xfinity to get them to cancel ASAP so I can activate the new account?
