My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Same thing is happening to me, bounces me back to the overview screen and I have to start all over again. Using Edge browser, what are you using? Going to try chrome next.

EDIT: it finally worked wooo. Can I just go pickup a new modem from the store even though store pickup wasn't a choice at checkout?
WHY did it work? I've tried it 3 times now, each time wasting 5 minutes going through the whole process.

even in Bridge Mode the Rental Gateways Broadcast about 10 Hidden Networks between 2.4ghz and 5ghz channels for Xfinity home security and Wireless TV boxes. If have wifi device that can see hidden networks.

If want to use the hotspot bandwidth with main connection you can load balance with OpenWRT router or use Speedify App on PC can combine wifi+ethernet devices into 1 connection.
No way to disable the hotspot signal?

Yes but it still doesn't disable the hidden networks broadcasting.

Anyone know why it keeps bouncing to the main xfinity site after hitting the "place order" button? I've gone through the entire checkout process 4 times now, and I have no clue whether I'm doing something wrong, or if the site just isn't working properly now.

Yes that's what I did since I have own equipment. I canceled existing account and had spouse sign up. When canceling have them remove modem from old account. When activating the new account provide them with the Mac address of that modem and you are good to go.

Thanks.

Do you have to cancel though? I read that folks here just switch to a new plan without cancelling

Try in incognito mode.

Not sure if the site was the problem, or the process, but I finally got it on the 6th try. I tried different things after the 3rd attempt, with the last thing being manually entering name/phone/email and linking instead of logging in directly (which ALSO links account per all the emails I received) when prompted. Never bothered with incognito/private.

Finally got it (above). In the end, it wasn't necessary--appreciate the suggestion though.

I had to use Chrome being a current customer to get it to go through. Wouldn't work in Firefox.

For those that signed up for the new deal under the same account, how has the cancellation process for your old account been going? I received an email several days ago that said "we received your cancellation request" but the account was still running. I called yesterday and they apparently got a supervisor and cancelled it but I got the same email again: "we received your cancellation request" - how long before it gets fully cancelled?

Edit: I chatted with Xfinity today and they claim that my account will be officially closed on 3/30 and I won't be charged for anything after 3/20. Sound right?

My Xfinity internet service was 400mpbs at $39.99 for 12month. I was at the last month of the promised rate, and the monthly bill was going to change to $99.99. I was looking for the way to reduce the future payment.

Thanks to the Slickdeals comments, I could set up the current 200mpbs at $25 for 24months, without term contract.
<btw, I could actually choose to renew the contract by having 12month term, 400mbps at $30/mo for 24 months as existing customer.>
I choose the get the current deal because I want to be ready to get any better deal at any time. (I am also a non-resident of USA but temporal with J visa; I don't know when I will leave!)

Here is what I did;
1) visit xfinity website using incognito mode (chrome), and find the prices by using the current address. (I chose as I am a new customer moving to this address)
2) choose 200mpbs deal and customize (flex device, xFi etc; my place said xFi complete for 20/mo so I just skipped it)
3) use the same name, phone, email. The system will say they found a matching account. I chose to link. They asked my BOD to verify the ID. Then I chose one of the registered payment option.
4) the order was placed, and I received several emails from Xfinity;
- Your Xfinity accounts are now linked (I see new account number after login with my comcast id)
- We received your cancellation request (service disconnected: internet and TV, as I received a flex device for free - I will return it)
- Thanks for choosing Xfinity
- Thanks, here is your Xfinity order confirmation (200 mbps one)
5) I am waiting for the old service to be stopped, then I will chat on xfinity app to reset my modem/router. (I have my own one, as xfinity did not offer a free rental previously)
6) I will bring the Flex device to one of the Xfinity shop for return. I am going to take a video of it, just for the case that they say the device is not returned

btw I am not sure if slickdeal rebate can work in incognito mode lol
I signed up using this same method. I received emails about my xfinity accounts being linked, thanks for choosing xfinity, and thanks here is your xfinity order confirmation.

I still have not received we have received your cancellation request email. Has anyone experienced the same thing?
