Argh. I need ethernet too.
I have an older Anker 5-in-1 with Ethernet ports, but Win11 never recognizes when I connect an Ethernet cable. I can see the Ethernet in windows networking. perhaps I have a defective unit, but I find this very odd. Just a heads up in case you get one with Ethernet, check quickly before return window closes

But Verbatim used to be a respected brand name, like 35 years ago (before your time). : ) The made high quality floppy discs, seriously!
And some of the best quality blank CD and DVDs. I swear my PS2 NEVER had an issue with a Verbatim burn. Same couldn't be said for Sony and other big name brands.

Just a heads up.....
1) The USB ports on this hub (6 in 1) have transfer speeds up to 10 Gbps, which is twice the speed of your 7 in 1 hub.
2) The USB version on this 6-in-1 is USB 3.1 gen 2, which is far better than your USB 3.0
3) When you transfer files, the speed also depends on the file size (larger file get more stable and faster transfer speeds) and how many ports on the hub you are using at the same time. For example, if you are using HDMI and also connects other USB ports on the hub, the transfer speed is definitely slower than directly connecting to the port on your computer...
You're right, I just realized the usb A speed isn't rated equally on both. However, with nothing connected to my hub other than the usb c cable from my ssd, the speeds were nowhere near advertised and should have been closer to 600 MB/s not 350. The hub does slow it down for whatever reason.

There is so much misinformation on this thread, especially people that have lots of likes on their completely wrong comments.

As for power delivery. If you are using power delivery through the hub you need 15w more then what your device uses. That should be a given. If you plug this into your laptop without power it will power through that. You are going from USB-C to HDMI, SD slot, etc, things that require power for the device plugged in or to push the signal on the wire. Do you think that light on your USB stick is magical or powered from a battery within the device? You are either sucking power from your laptop/device or from the power coming in. So if you have a standard Dell laptop with a standard 65w power adapter then no you cant use the same charger through this. If you have a laptop that needs 65w and you have a 90w adapter or a aftermarket adapter that's 80w+ then it will work fine.

As for 4k@60. Yes it works IF your laptop supports DisplayPort 1.4 on the USB-C connection. That's a newer machine, like 11th generation Intel or higher. No your 4 year old 8th gen isn't going to get 4k@60 but the 4k@30 should still work.

As for data transfer speeds. Yes it will be slower going through a hub then directly connected to your laptop. For 98% of people this isn't going to matter even slightly. For the last 2% that want fast access to a external SSD then it might matter if for some reason you are directly editing movies feom the SSD and not copying locally.

As for "well it doesn't have Ethernet/USB-C/VGA/etc". Yeah, it's $18. Buy something else that will definitely be more then $18.

Personally I bought 5 for work because people need a HDMI port or a SD card reader and those adapters are like $15 by themselves. Might as well have one that does everything.

hahaha, fair enough! i had never heard of them before :X
Verbatim brand for CDRs and floppy disks back then is like "SanDisk" for SD cards now. Imagine if in 25 years someone tells you that they've never heard of SanDisk.

IMHO, I think UGreen makes better USB hubs. Just my 2 cents...

Even if you are using the steam deck power brick, not enough power? I was about to buy one for that exact purpose
Nope, tried the official charger as well a a 65w and two different 100w Anker power adapters.

Those chargers all work fine without the hub, and the hub along with those power adapters work fine with charging my Laptop. The Steamdeck will just not charge with these hubs while there is any load on the device. If it's idle, it will charge though.

I bought this one by Verbatim. Has Ethernet. and is less expensive even at full price. (I paid less, $14 on a SD). Can't say how good it is 'cause I haven't tested anything except the card reader yet. but it's got every I/O you can think of, basically.

I picked up the Verbatim 8-in-1 (no Ethernet) when these were on sale few months ago. It's okay, with a couple caveats.

The USB C port (not the PD port) only supports data, so that port won't pass a video signal out to a display.

Using the HDMI video output, it supports screen mirroring on iPad Pro with M1. However, Stage Manager is a fail because a USB mouse doesn't scroll properly. I wasn't planning on using Stage Manager, but if it worked well, who knows? The integrated USB C cord is also a bit short, so it's cumbersome if you're hanging it off the side of an iPad.

4k@60hz works if your laptop supports DP 1.4 through USB C. I've got it hooked up to my 2021 Asus G14 and it's working fine.
