Have this exact laptop, expect 4-5h battery in the low power mode, plays everything even AAA games like the cod mw2 2022, bf2042, Forza horizon 5 in the 120fps range at high settings. Upgraded it to 32gb 3200mhz ram and a 2nd m.2 drive. Only issue is to access anything you need to remove the whole main board. It's not super hard but it is annoying.
I really wanted to buy this laptop, but the lack of charging via USB C was a deal breaker.

Good laptop. Generally faster than a 3060m.

Had my eye on this for a bit. Battery life looks great, but if you look at reviews, the hinge is defective and seems to fail with light use. Just FYI. Might be a good pick if you don't plan on taking it anywhere.

I'm not up to date on new computer technology but why have a gen3 ssd? This must be an older laptop?

Why do they always make it so hard. There are really only two things gamers typically want to change on a gaming laptop: storage and ram (less frequently: cpu, etc.). The case should be designed with that in mind.

Having worked for amd, they realize most people don't actually upgrade, they just like having the option. So they likely chose this design to make it cheaper/more performant.

It isn't hard with this laptop, just tedious. For some reason, they installed the mobo upside down, so you have to remove it and flip it to get to the 2 RAM slots and NVMe slot.

From what I've seen, Thunderbolt/USB-C charging capabilities is an Intel exclusive thing. AMD is SOL, which is unfortunate, as they tend to run on less power than Intel.

"Light use" is key I guess. But I mean, who is going to spend almost $1k on a laptop, then lightly use it?

Which is better, this laptop or the Apple 14" MacBook Pro laptop (2021 Model, MKGQ3LL/A)?

"Apples" and oranges, my man. One is for gaming / power users, the other is a Mac.

If you want to game, than obviously this is better than any Apple product. If you don't want to game, this MSI probably isn't worth looking at.
