KastKing are 100% shills. Anyone saying they aren't is a shill. They are the biggest shills in fishing. Enjoy.
While I don't agree that every kastking post is a shill, take a look at this particular one as an example. You have someone who never posted anything else posting on their very first post stating that the pricing is reflected in cart, and the staff that posted this listing talking back to it like it's really someone else. someone who oddly has 10 reps with a single post. Pretty fishy. happens often with kastking posts.

My rods showed up today and they are beautiful. I picked up 1 medium light 9ft and 1 medium fast 9ft. I yet to fish with them since it's hard water season up here still but the quality of these rods surprised me. It's not going to replace my Gloomis but it's right up there with my St Croix.

I would avoid Kast King. Stick to Shimano, Penn, Daiwa etc. Pick the right gears and maintain them they will last for a long time. When you go fishing, the cost of gear and tackle is relative small compare to travel cost and time.

I agree on reels mainly because it takes a few years until they need repairs and most of these up and coming companies don't stand the test of time or don't bother to stock parts for repair. You can adventure out a little bit when it comes to rods as long as it's made of quality parts like the Krome rod is. IM8 blank with Fuji guides and seat is worth $50 all day long.

I love slick deals for everyone's input and knowledge. I did order 2 of the 9 for kastking rods for Salmon fishing in the fall in Michigan. Did I make a mistake? Any suggestions on other options. I have never been salmon fishing but it has always been on my bucket list and getting time to so it. Lol. Thank you everyone.
Any of the 9' or over Krome's should be great rod's for all around steelhead fishing. Okuma also has some great options on the budget side and if you get serious go Gloomis.

Anyone using Kromes -- can you compare the actions to non salmonid rods? I would be using as inshore saltwater primarily for snook, drums, snapper, occasional grouper and maybe some tarpon.
The sale is supposed to be through today
I was trying to figure out buying some Krome - had 5 in my cart including the only spinning left and four casting - ran out of time so back at it now and limited items, still a couple I was looking at still say 70% off in red box on product page - ring up full price through checkout.
WTF.
And now the Destron braid is lower price by a couple dollars on amazon. i was thinking about trying out a couple but pissed now about the Kromes.

As to their reels - I purchased one, was given one and tried pliers and knives --- All were absolute garbage.
i haven't tried their more expensive offerings and won't buy their $200+ BFS even on sale I don't think because if I was using an expensive finesse it would be Daiwa or shimano ordered from japan. Their big aluminum saltwater spinning that seems similar to Penn Slammer III - I may try at some point if it goes on a very nice sale and I'm paying attention.

Looks like only the casting models are left for the Kromes. I only use spinners for salt unless I'm just dropping so I can't speak from experience. Just on specs I would say the 9' fast/heavy/heavy-drifting and the fast/heavy/alaskan-heavy-drifting should be useful at that price if you're good with a casting/conventional reel.

Well ordered the Alaska driver and the 9'6 fast mh m drifter
Wish spinner and 12' were still available.
Will see what they are like... seems like I should be able to find some technique that works with them inshore.
Already got $8.64 back from AJ also on the 2 rod purchase

Can anyone suggest a rod and reel combo that is mid range, great quality, reasonably priced for up to 9 pound trout in the Pacific Northwest?
