I work in the industry--this price is lower than dealer wholesale. Specialized is ridiculously overstocked right now and is in the process of an inventory dump. As soon as they stabilize what they have on hand these sales will disappear.
Watch for barely used bikes, people still need to empty their garage of Covid bikes that were used twice!

You can do a little math most times and figure it out. If you assume a standard 45% margin which is pretty common you would come up with a dealer cost of 2350 to hit 3400 retail. This current sale at 2300 to your door is a ridiculous deal and it makes sense from the perspective of specialized. They are liquidating this excess inventory to the public at dealer cost more or less
No, bike shops do not get 45% margins on bikes and frame sets. What you claim you saw on some buddy's dealer portal was probably the reduced sale wholesale price or employee special pricing, or something.

Sweet! I own a Specialized Allez back from 2011. I am interested in finally upgrading and now seems like a good time. Do you know where or how I can get one of their new bikes for a decent price?
Yes literally look 👆.

Most if not all of them are asking for same price as new, sometimes even more than brand new one with warranty

Thanks for the post! Does anyone know what the alloy one weighs? It's less and I'm not a huge fan of carbon.. Are these the same except alloy/carbon materials? I see it's on pretty good sale as well...

Yes, they do. I worked for the largest bike shop in the U.S. and have seen dealer pricing sheets for Specialized concept stores and if not, how is it that I have bought 5 Specialized bikes at 45%-50% off and these shops still made money?

When Specialized has a sale like this, they also lower the wholesale prices that shops pay.

If you compare the new wholesale price to the old retail price, the math shows the margin the other guy is talking about, but that is not the case when you consider the new retail sale price.

My 2 local dealers are going to have mega sales on complete bikes after Easter which kicks off our mt bike season (although we ride year around) here in N Cal.
Which shops?

i've only seen sales on mtbs. i've been trying to find a deal on a gravel bike but there aren't any on Specialized.
Canyon is probably going to be your best bet on a gravel bike. Inventory just goes in and out a lot. All the mainstream brands are insanely overpriced just because gravel is the "hot thing" still.

Thoughts about Levo going even lower than the current $5k price mark?

I'm looking to get a mountain bike for SoCal trails, and some road riding in downtown LA.

I'm new to bikes but have always wanted one, and now I'm in a position to buy one this year.

I'd like to buy once and cry once on a really nice bike that will last me for a long time and still serve my future needs as I get more into mountain biking.

Can any of you bikes experts please recommend something in the $1k-$1.5 range?

Maybe expensive models that I can keep an eye on this year for sales
