For folks asking about the 12 months of service part, all of that is answered in the original thread: https://slickdeals.net/f/16487416-mint-mobile-128gb-google-pixel-7-unlocked-smartphone-12-month-4gb-plan-289-recovery-fee-port-in-required-free-s-h?page=76#commentsHeader

tldr: Needs to be a ported in number. GV works (create a new gmail account, pay google $3 to port out). People who dont care about the 12 months mint service can just discard the activation kit and treat this as a $289 unlocked phone.

Oh - I see it as a non-factor. Most are getting the deal (seemingly) for the good price on the phone. I don't even want the plan shipped with it, was able to flip it for $50 bucks.

From what I can tell, you need to port a number in to get the 6 free months, or get a new number and no free 6 months. I was unable to just buy the deal for my existing account with the prior Pixel 6 deal.
All mint deals are for new lines/accounts only. There is no way to apply to and existing account (not 6 months or 12 months).

If you don't port in you must contact customer service to activate a new number and the plan will be 6 months, but why do that when you can port over a google voice number for $3 and get 12 months?

Last time I used the billing address and the shipping address was different from which my order got placed and received in the 1st attempt. Not sure at your point .
With Paypal? Usually that will not work, guess yours slipped by the filter.

damn they never sell out of these things, wish there's a 7 pro deal for 379
I mean if you're wishing, why not just say you wish there was a pro deal for free with lifetime service?

I don't feel comfortable selling a cell phone number that is registered under my name. How do you transfer the number tied to the sim you are selling?
There is no number tied to the sim. It requires port in of a number. The sim is just taken from a stack and tossed in the box. Not tied to you until you activate it.

I'm only seeing the port in required
That's because port in is required to get 12 months of service. If you just want the phone, no port is needed, but you lose the $90 for the plan.

That's the entire goal of every deal Mint has had since their inception. Once the sale is final, these deals will go away most likely. In fact this deal is likely just clearing out stock they had ordered.
Not saying I believe it, but I had the thought that this deal could be related to the sale of Mint. Have to assume it takes months at least to buy companies, so if you're running Mint how do you drive up the price? I'd run a loss leader promotion. Take a minor cash hit, but both customers and new customers rise right when you're negotiating terms. Looks nice in a PowerPoint.

The problem with that conspiracy theory is they restocked the Pixels while the promo is running and the sale is announced. They could have waited a couple weeks, the promo is over, money made.

Also, if you want to get customers you'd do this with an iPhone.

so I could ask my current AT&T number to get eSIM to put into this phone, and then still port-in another number, GoogleVoice or whatnot, to activate the 12-month SIM card and then I can run this phone in dual SIM mode?

I was charged $90 for the first 6 months of service , did I make a mistake when I signed up? I was charged a total of 389 plus fees
Under this deal? Should have been 289 plus fees including the first 6 months of service.

Other than this deal, how's the service with Mint in general.

I have a Samsung Note 20 ultra with T-Mobile right now on a $65/month unlimited plan (grandfathered from Sprint days). However, I don't use the phone much as I use my work iPhone 11.

The Samsung is out of contract and paid off.....I'm thinking of downgrading to a bare min (maybe like $20/month) service. I'm in Sacramento...

Cheers.
Best bet is to get the 7 day free trial on a phone that will NOT be used with mint (since that will make you ineligible for the offer) and see how it works. I'm on the east coast and it is no different from my old T-Mobile service.

So far we have multiple confirmation when activate the SIM card and the "12-month" plan, mint mobile activation site will force you to port-in phone number in order to complete the activation of the 12-month plan. There is no option to get a new phone number during the activation process.
The FAQ tells you to contact customer service if you want 6 months and a new number, but why do that when you can get 12 months with a $3 google voice port out?

Not true. While you try to activate the sim it will pop up forcefully to portin and mentions if you don't want to portin you need to call the customer care number to get the new number and activate only for 6 months. This is what I saw when I processed mine
Correct, you have to go through CS to get new number with 6 months, but that is a waste when you can port in for $3 from google voice and get 12 months.
